PMDG planes tend to CTD upon exiting FSX

Recommended Posts

Not sure why this happens but I sometimes get a random CTD when exiting FSX while using a PMDG plane such as the 737 NGX or the 747-4x. It doesn't always happen. This doesn't happen with other planes. Anyone else face this issue also?

I have never ever had a crash with a PMDG Plane in FS9/FSX or the other sim which starts with a "P" and ends in a "4" :P    it's your setup!

Guessing you run in full screen mode?

Do you have the HIGHMEMFIX=1 in your [Graphics] section in your FSX.CFG?

Full Screen, half screen, green screen, movie screen  ........PMDG Products are super stable on my PC.  Today I loaded up the Coolsky DC9, then clicked on menu to load the Cpt. Sim 767, then clicked again to load the PMDG NGX 900.....all smooth loads and no crashes....stable even on exit, me lucky :P

FSX is perfect for me too, especially with PMDG aircraft. Computer isn't the best, but I still get exceptional performance with the greatest of detail in the NGX in high density places such as Seattle. I do get the odd crash when I try to switch between PMDG aircraft while in-game, but I never get any CTD's etc, while flying. Even on 14+ hour flights. Can't wait to get those long hauls started again  ^_^

there are lot of things to check, start with direct x, c++ and xml.dll. It's not PMDG, my FSX never crash, and i fly all PMDG planes and Maddog 99% of time.

BTW, do you have any CTD message, or appcrashview log of that events? It would be very usefull

I really think you should edit the title to "my fsx setup crashes after exit", it's not PMDG's fault.  B247NG is right, check all that Microsoft stuff :good:

For me, PMDG planes tend to CTD upon 4 or 5 hour flights.

I've only done 3 long haul routes in the PMDG 747-400. 2 out of 3 had crashes.

1. EDDF-KSFO. Flight went great.

2. EDDF-OMDB. Flight crashed during descent.

3. EHAM-OMDB. Flight crashed over Turkey.
