So, in "real life" (or "as real as it gets" FSX flying other than for tetsing or showcase purposes), wouldn't a go around at 50ft be mandatory? Kind regards, Markus Markus Richter

Lead-in lights can be seen a fair bit above the minimums. That is satisfactory enough. For CAT IIIa at least, CAT IIIb has a zero DH, no outside reference required at all. --Peter Fabian

Thanks for the explanation, but are you sure? I thought that the required RVR (runway visual range) equals the distance a pilot should be able to see down the runway. From the selected MDH of '100 in the video, I would have thought it was a CAT IIIa landing with a RVR of 660ft. Markus Richter
August 5, 201312 yr RVR yes, vertical visibility, no. I don't know about the landing in the video, however the light bars were definitely seen before touchdown anyway. --Peter Fabian
