A moment of thought

Recommended Posts

I received some news I was expecting for a long time yesterday.  When 9/11 happened, I felt spiritually connected to that tragedy.  Like many "tragedy voyuers", I was riveted by the news and kept digging up more.

My career in IT began in 1989.  My first IT job, I met so many wonderful people who remain friends today.  Just recently, I began working for my state government, and a new colleague turned out to be an old one--she worked with me in my very first IT job.  Well, during lunch yesterday she told me that one of our supervisors and mentors of that job was in the twin towers and lost on 9/11.

9/11 wasn't a demonstration of religion.  It was a demonstration of self righteousness taken beyond acceptable limits.  I know what self righteousness is--this post is somewhat, and I have been a simple jerk, to say it mildly, in many posts.

So I am not here to judge.  What I am here to say is 9/11 has people we know, probably most of us know someone.  I am here to say a person, a human being, existed and deserves to be remembered, not snuffed out out of hate.  Her name was Nina, and she was a beautiful person.  I hope there is a bit of her in everyone who reads this.
