August 9, 201312 yr what I want grab in an emergency is not a star cause the ATC will vector me to the rwy, but the freq ILS and configure the INIT REF so i can set a safe approach, and if you don't have the specific charts, I think the FMC the only quickly resource. (of course if the failure permit me to operate on the FMC).. If an emergency happens right after takeoff, you'll likely be returning to destination. In this case the departure airport will already be available in the DEP/APP page. Selecting the approach you want from here is quick and easy, and will detail any relevant frequencies. If you're en route, you've got plenty of time to set up for an alternate (and you already know the suitable alternates along your route, right?!) Jordan Forrest

Click on the DEP ARR page and you'll see: <DEP-------------BGSF--------------ARR> --------------------LFPG--------------ARR> There's ARR info for the departure airport for the exact reasons Jordan mentioned. The info about the approach (crs/freq) will be on the INIT REF page, though. 2) For what I know the the alternate destination is only usefull for calculate the trip fuel (see tutorial 2) not allow you to set and see any runway information.
