August 7, 201312 yr Shalom and greetings all my pals, Here is very early morning Lockheed L1011 commuter flight from KATL Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport located seven miles south of the central business district of Atlanta, Georgia to KEWR Newark Liberty International Airport about 15 miles southwest of Midtown Manhattan in New York City Airborne on climb to FL350 after take off from runway 08R and after 180 degree left turn toward east and then northeast. Below the plane is clear view of KATL and well lighted highway running across the screenshot. That highway is called Route 285 also known as Route 407 also known as The Perimeter highway. Wing view of entire city of Atlanta where you will see below engine the KATL airport and its four well lighted runways!!!!! If you can see greatest and heaviest concentration of city lights in the whole lighted cityscape of Atlanta, that would be business district of Atlanta. Also, if you can look at left side of screenshot, you will see well lighted highway running on south side of the airport. That highway is called Route 285 also known as Route 407 also known as The Perimeter highway. Another highway that runs on east side of the airport across the screenshot from left to right into center of city is highway route number 75 better known as Downtown Connector Highway. Leaving city of Atlanta still on climb to FL350 heading northeast Climbing climbing climbing to FL350 heading to CLT Now cruising at FL350 Making little left turn adjustment toward CLT Excuse me for drooling too much on sunrise!! Approaching outer limits of city of Charlotte Intercepting CLT above city of Charlotte Leaving city of Charlotte to head to GSO Passing KGSO Piedmont Triad International Airport just west of Greensboro, North Carolina Intercepting GSO above entire city of Greensboro and heading to RIC Approaching southwest section of city of Richmond where you can see Swift Creek Reservoir behind right wing Intercepting RIC above city of Richmond and its KRIC Richmond International Airport about 7 miles southeast of downtown Richmond Wing view of entire city landscape of Richmond while leaving the city to make left turn toward north to start PHLBO3 arrival procedure Before starting to execute the PHLBO3 arrival procedure, I had to make at DCA controllers' request one wide circle before starting the procedure due to heavy traffic at KEWR meaning I got during wide circle a nice view of KNGU Naval Station Norfolk in Norfolk, Virginia which is world's largest naval base supporting 75 ships and 134 aircraft alongside 14 piers and 11 aircraft hangars where it averages 275 flights per day or one every six minutes. Descending from FL350 to 10,000 passing city of Philadelphia Because of regulations of the forums not allowing more than 20 screenshots per post, please be kind enough to go to this hyperlink below to continue viewing rest of gorgeous flight.
