Yes - good point. You need >100 hrs at BAV for the 777. You can take the NGX out from day 1 to do those hours though.

Cheers

How is it possible man?

I was a BAV pilot years ago, so I don't know if it is changed smothing, but the B737 is not in the current BA fleet.

Real world BA still fly the 734 on holiday routes out of EGKK and Comair (BA South Africa franchise - so part of BAV as well) use the 733 and 734 in South Africa. 733 and 734 are common type-rating with the NG series and hence BAV allows type substitution of NGs for 733 and 734 routes, even though this is not strictly RW ops.

AVSIM has a great LINKS system, heavily populated with a wide variety of Virtual Airlines and managed by one of the greatest people you could ever have the privilege to know. :)

I gotta throw in another vote for BAV. Really professional group and they treat the 200LR as a common type rating with the other triples they fly so we'll be able to fly it day one (plus PMDG is doing a fictional British Airways Livery!!). All you need to do is pass the entrance exam and get 100 hours, so get your name in that que!

I already know that, but you mentioned the NGX in your post, not the boeing  737-400. Still cannot understand your first post I replied to.

Let me try again:

1. BAV requires >100 hours to fly 777.

2. BAV requires 0 hours to fly the 737.

3. Real BA flies 733 and 734.

4. BAV allows you to fly the 737NG on real BA's 733 and 734 routes (because of common type rating).

5. Therefore, you can fly the 100 hours to qualify for the 777 in PMDG's 737NGX.

Simple.

You can read it all in the BAV Ops Manual on the BAV site, if it's still not clear.

Cheers

Clear now, I didn't know they allow to fly with the 737NGX, I knew that they only allow to fly aircrafts of the BA fleet.

Thanks bye.

This very much depends on what kind of a VA you want. If you want a real world airline copy, you have read all the big ones. If you prefer an airline that allows you to fly the mission of your choice with the aircraft of your choice at the time of your choice, you may want to visit Platinum Airways. We are at the other end of the VA spectrum. We currently have the Posky 777-300ER in our livery, but you can fly any aircraft that you want. And if you would like the PMDG 777 repainted, we have a Paintshop forum for these requests.

PS: we have no waiting list - everyone over 18 is welcome to join and have fun.

President, Platinum Airways (the very virtual Open Skies airline)

With the release of the PMDG 777 and the fact that it is a popular aircraft, there are literally hundreds of VAs that have the triple seven in their fleet.

Your best bet is to find a VA to your liking (chances are it is in their fleet) and enjoy what they have to offer.

Happy hunting... :)

VATSIM: P2 | I1

My VA, Phoenix Virtual, is probably a good fit for you. They have real world schedules for over 700 airlines worldwide, so if you can think of a 777 route, it is probably flyable with PVA. The ACARS system is great and there is a very active community of pilots. The only 'downside' would be that you cant just jump into flying the 777, you need to build up hours first, but that is part of the fun and you will actually feel like you earned a place flying the T7. phoenixva.org

Air Canada of course!

Looks interesting, but BUT can I immediately fly my PMDG 777 or will they force me to "earn" that "privelge" by accumulationg hours in smaller jets? I see no such answer on their website.
