It's hard to compare the two as they are completely different. if you want a challenging automated systems flight get the pmdg ngx but if you want something that you can muscle around and must watch like a hawk especially when landing because if your not watching your speed on approach carefully your dash 8 can quickly become the crash 8 but as to witch one is better they are both brilliant products and they should be both regarded as such as they are so immersive and so different

Not a good comparison as one is a turboprop vs an airliner. I own both. They equally are the standard in there respective classes. However I would never say one was better that the other. Both use an extensive amount of code to create the most realistic simulation to date. So I'm neutral on this one

Until Majestic gets the Pilot version of the Q400 out that includes systems failures, the PMDG NGX has to be the winner. Once the Pilot version is out though, it's going to be awfully close competition.

The Q400 is already the winner. Once the pilot version is out, there won't be any competition.

I really gotta go with the NGX on this. Do not get me wrong, the Q400 is a phenomenal product, I stayed up to buy it the second it came out. The thing is, the NGX turned flight simulation upside down. It brought into the mainstream things that hadn't been seen or done before. It is the bar everyone sets stuff too. Threads are always saying "on a scale of one to NGX how good is this product?" It's the top. The Q400 is extremely close, but the fact that even this thread is basically asking if the NGX has been dethroned proves that it hasn't. It's still the standard.

Well I just took my first proper flight in the Milviz 737-200c. I transferred my EZdok NGX cameras to it and based an FSUIPC profile for it on the my NGX profile.

What can I say its was a blast. loved it, loved it, loved it. The great thing about it is that knowledge and experience of flying the NGX really help.

I picked it up for a song - $75 for it along with Milviz F15e and the F86 Sabre. If you are an NGX fan this is a must have and the other two are very nice too.

I do not own the Q-400, but one thing that has kept me away is the price. The price for the Pilot version is the same as what I paid for the NGX with a lot more features. It looks as though the Pro version will cost close to what we are paying for the T-7 just to get up to speed with the NGX. How does PMDG do the same for so much less?

Thanks,

Ron
