read manual, if you pick DEP Airport, Transition and Star correctly in FMC, you get your TD.  Over 3 years i'm using CS Payware and I always get my TD and my VNAV's work :good:  8P

So their patches to fix problems(T7) they even acknowledge exist don't for you? You are the one user who the aircraft works great for? Considering I have been using payware aircraft for years I find it hard to believe that EVERYONE is doing it wrong. I mean CS put out patches to assist users that are doing it wrong? The T7 is a good looking a/c. Users have been successful with work arounds to get it to work to their liking. It is just another unfinished product by CS.

The buggy and unfinished parts of the aircraft are the systems and the level of complexity that they offer.

There are plenty of other add-on companies that don't offer the same level of complexity as CS, but no one bats an eye lids those.

So their bugs are by design? Now I have heard it all.

You have found a thread of user improvements to the 727. Can you show me where CS promised that they would implement those improvements?

Yeah, its a new marketing ploy...to include bugs (even though they advertise that system is working like its real world counterpart)... :He He: :Talking Ear Off:

Can't recommend them as well

all products unfinished & buggy at different stage...

Watch CS forum & see by yourself

in fact community has to work to find solution & tweaks because CS has no plan to finish there work...

The fact is most of the critical issues can be corrected with a few configuration changes. We do that with FSX everyday, so while I would rather not have to do that, I don't see it as a show stopper for me, especially if you can get it at a price like 9.99E. No one here is even hinting that it's PMDG quality, but how many addons are? The mistake that they made with the 777 is releasing it at a stage when it was missing some standard systems expected on an airliner like TCAS, or EICAS messaging. At the stage it's at now (1.2) would have been a good 1.0 starting point. The next update is planned to have a big VNAV fix, so if they can fix some of the more major issues with VNAV, it can ultimately be a pretty nice alternative for those that won't be able to get a PMDG 777 or maybe someone who just doesn't need that level of complexity. So if you are planning to get the PMDG 777 at this stage I agree, this would not be worth it, but for all others this really is the only alternative if you still want a 777 for FSX, especially if you can get it at this low price. The biggest issue I have with it is performance, it is a hog there is no denying that, but that's just my system.  I have to run low res textures, to use it on my system. I only have though a 3Ghz (Dell so I can't O/C) C2D system. Those that have more modern I7's though aren't complaining though. Even with this I can still get flight's like this.

The link was meant to provide a list of shortcomings - with different degrees of severeness. It backs up the statement of CS releasing incomplete, buggy airplanes without wasting too much energy for completing and debugging them even months and years after release.

I'm not aware of another(!) CS B777 VNAV fix after their VNAV fix attemps in...

- 1. v1.0,

- 2. separate VNAV hotfix after v1.0, but before v1.1,

- 3. v1.1 and

It's in the knowledge base for the "On list for next SP". It's in general terms, so I'm not sure what exactly they are going to include in it. We'll just have to wait and see. The way I see it, VNAV has 4 major issues (I'm sure others may identify more)

1. It's needs an altitude intervene, so it can handle interim step climbs more realistically. 1.2 added the speed intervene function, which works pretty well.

2. It handles altitude constraints well, but not speed constraints. It seems to only obey the values in the general VNAV page, not the individual waypoints.

3. It needs to update the speed bug on the PFD while in VNAV mode.

4. They have to correct the method of setting end of destination and getting a TOD.

This is more on the AP side, but they have to finally fix the flare on an autoland. None of their planes could ever do this right!!

Thanks

For 10 EU I would run to the checkout when it opens and buy everything available. I own the 130, 727, 707, B52, 757, 737 and 767 and I have NONE of the issues others seem to suffer with.

The only reason I dont have, and wont have the triple7 is because not only CS but PMDG as well has decided us 2D cockpit users arent worth the time and no longer include a 2D cockpit.

It was a great ride while it lasted!

Jay

There 757 isn't bad, a shame that McphatStudios isn't having a sale, as I already have the CS 757...

Actually both 777s have multiple 2D popouts; the CS version even has some for the EFIS control panel and for the display CP.

Popups yes, full 2D cockpit no... and PMDG lost my business when they falsly advertized the popups for the 737 and then didnt include the throttle quadrent. But lets no go there on this thread.

The OP asked about CS and I am very happy with their products

Jay

I don't own any CS aircraft yet... Any issues with dX10 preview? Particularly interested in the 707.
