August 24, 201312 yr As I can see from the manual, MD-11 numbers in SimBrief are just estimated, did anyone test this and what are your results? Cheers,
August 24, 201312 yr Sorry I can't help with your question, but thanks for letting us know about SimBrief, I was not aware of it and it looks pretty good. EDIT: The list of aircraft in SimBrif is very narrow. Eg.... No MD-80 / DC-9 variant listed, so I've fell at the first hurdle. :( RE EDIT: Wow, it's still really cool! ..... Tons of great features. Will be using this to generate all by FPs and Briefs now.
August 24, 201312 yr Author Yeah, it is tieing me over until PFPX The numbers are, as far as I know, taken from official sources. My guess is that the Douglas numbers are not so easily available. And, ad the simulator models we use also have differences, so the only way is to test. SimBrief It is pretty much bang on for the NGX so far, though there are limitations to setting your own CI from company SOP and so on, but it is very good for a free alternative.
August 24, 201312 yr I've been using it for about 2 weeks now and it's spot on using the NGX Reik Namreg
August 26, 201312 yr From what I have heard and seen it is good on fuel, I find it better that fuelplanner.com that will always give me to little fuel. Joseph Vannelli
August 26, 201312 yr Does Simbrief (or will PFPX for that matter) give a suggested cruise level? The only programs I have found that do that are FSCommander and FSBuild. My favourite is Aivlasoft EFB but that doesn't, and expects you to provide that.

However it is clearly stated that it does not simulate cost index as it varies from operator to operator. I guess it just takes an average for its calculations. Besides that , the other information regarding fuel, notams, weather enroute, etc are highly accurate.
