So I cannot currently access a2asimulations.com.

Methinks this means they are in release preparation mode! :)

* Friday night - check!

* Kids asleep - check!

Perfect time for release. ;)

For me, it's because it draws a parallel with the type of aircraft I would, and have, been likely to fly in the real world. Circumstance dictates that I would never realistically be flying in the real world in, for example, a Lancair Legacy...

Same here.  I'm not a pilot IRL.  My life circumstances were such that I was never able to put a license together - when I had the time I had no money, and when I had the money I had no time.  Now I've got some other things (post-2008 finances, a medical thing that's minor but would get in the way of a PPL) getting in the way.  One of my pleasures in simming is to re-create the life I would have had if I had been able to get my license - which means flying the kind of airplanes I would likely have flown in real life.  The rental option on the 172 really appeals to me, since given the price of a late-model 172, it's unlikely I would have had one of those in the hangar, either.

Don't get me wrong - I like exotic stuff, too, and I find that flying life-threatening machines like warbirds and helos makes be a better sim pilot overall.  But simulating a close-alternative real life has its charm, too.

Bummer... the connection problems were actual connection problems...:

So they weren't working on getting the C172 into the shop.

I think we will get vid #3 at or before release.  That being said, I bet they are prepping their servers for the massive hit.

No idea what the price will be, I would assume it would be comparable to their earlier releases.  I would 'budget' for it somewhere in the $50 ballbark.  If it is cheaper...great!

Can´t wait for this.  A tour calls, time to get Plan G going and make a tour of the Uk.

Exactly the same checklist for me!  :smile:

I am sitting here staring at AVSIM, just refreshing and reading new posts .... I want to fly but something it telling me that we may just get something tonight........

Surely they won't release until all the prerelease vids are out?

Yeah I am thinking that too, Part 1 was Wednesday correct, Part 2 was Thursday, Part 3 today and release today? Probably tomorrow.

I wont be getting the 777 until FS2Crew is out for it so I am hoping for some time in the 172 soon

I'm pretty sure they planned to release dev vid #3 AFTER releasing the 172. Believe it mentions that on dev vid #2.

Yep just checked, Vid #3 will appear after release.  Any time now guys :smile:

Yes! Good news! I am really really exited for this one...

I really hope this 172 is a big seller.  So many people are going to be introduced to Accusim for the first time and become 'accusim-addicts'.   More folks might start looking at the Cub, Civil P-51, and all the other gems.   Each accusim plane has it's own personality.

Then we can look forward to the Cherokee series, which will be awesome.  Each progressive A2A release has more 'stuff'.  They can really go for the 70s beater GA plane with that one.

If the GAs are very successful for A2A, they may announce others, like A2A's company plane, the Comanche.  Maybe a multi such as a Baron or something.

Some day I hope they announce a Beech 18 or DC-3, one can only hope hahaha.  Otherwise the F-104 sounds really awesome.

Great times ahead for sure.
