A2A Accu-Sim C172 Trainer Development Video Part 2 of 3

Current system: ASUS PRIME Z690-P D4, Intel 12900k, 32GB RAM @ 3600mhz, Zotac RTX 3090 Trinity, M2 SSD, Oculus Quest 2.

Just wondering... why do people enjoy flying these trainers in FSX?  Don't read into my question too much, I have no agenda, just genuinely curious.

Because it is the most popular training aiplane in the world, with accu-sim. I will repeat, with accu-sim! Also fying it I can learn the basics of single prop engine, how to mantain, proper leaning, etc. And sometimes, after a month of numerous airliner flights I get bored with autopilot, flightplans, etc, I just want to fly a properly simulated airplane and have some proper VFR enjoyment. You need more explanations? No, I think not. :)

Jeff,

I like to use them to stay sharp on various procedures for my real flying. Although i mostly fly heavies in FSX, IRL I'm a lowly PPL and these types of aircraft help me stay sharp with procedures, multitasking, single pilot crew management, checklists etc.

Other than that I'm also a big 172 fan and gladly support developers that put their blood and sweat into these types of sims ;-)

Cheers,

Pete

to paraphrase an old song lyric, nothing beats the 'screamin sounds of a big warbird'....true, as fun as the warbirds are, my logbook is filled with many hours of 172 time and unfortunately no P-51 time.  My logbook will likely follow that trend for the rest of my life.

Like Pete says above, flying these trainers is great for keeping the mind sharp on procedures and such.  While I am not a fan of G1000s in GA singles, I got the F1 182 simply for the fact that if I find myself sitting in front of a real G1000, I want to know how to use it.  FS can be an excellent tool for that.  Also for simple currency practice.  For instance I use the Carenado Archer for my basic 'ol six pack and CDIs' IFR refresher.  Looking forward to the A2A 172 and Cherokee to do the same.

Don't discount the warbirds as teaching tools tho, they can teach you a lot.  Go fly(don't use AP) the Civil P51 down to a minimums on an ILS approach on a windy day.  Your instrument flying and reaction times will get a lot more precise if you practice that :)

Cheers

Anybody think that engine sound is not spot on? I mean it's good, but I expected more realistic engine sound. Maybe I'm wrong, especially when you consider that I didn't flew in C172 in real life, and only watched video clips of C172.

By the way, details like vibrating GPS and muffled sound with headphones on are brilliant. Perfectionism at its best.

I thought the engine sound was a little strange, I was hoping more deep "prop flapping" sound as I heard back when I trained on 172Rs. But none the less, I'm sold on the product.

Nothing that a proper sound pack can't fix. :)
