November 9, 200421 yr yes, thanks, I saw that thread beforemost of the comments support what I say, FSMeteo too has all those features with only one exception that I found... voice vs text flight watch (enroute wx).I keep watching though. :-) CPU: Core i5-6600K 4 core (3.5GHz) - overclock to 4.3 | RAM: (1066 MHz) 16GB MOBO: ASUS Z170 Pro | GeForce GTX 1070 8GB | MONITOR: 2560 X 1440 2K
November 9, 200421 yr >most of the comments support what I say, FSMeteo too has all>those features with only one exception that I found... voice>vs text flight watch (enroute wx).If you compared "features" then there would hardly be any difference between a Mercedes and a Honda - both have similar "features" like wheels, radios and climate control. Two bottles of wines also offer same "features" yet some bottles of wines are 10 times more expensive than others. But it is ok - not everyone has ability or desire to appreciate fine things in life.Sorry, could not resist that. November 9, 200421 yr Was typing fast....wanted to get back to that Southern Ontario AS2004.5 sky!!!Cheers!Mitch'er
November 9, 200421 yr Hi MitchGreat comments and very true.Do yourself a favor and get Chris's dark clouds and Carmine 's dark nigh program and get what from my 6500 hrs flying experience the best skies i have ever seen in a sim when combined with AS2004.5I can't believe the change is FS9 in only a few days. These 3 things have done more for increasing the realism of the environment thananything i have ever seen for FS.Great effort one and all. Those sihouetted clouds look amazing at dawn.Darren
November 9, 200421 yr There are many posts of these kind around about AS.Just infomercials IMHO.Wolfgang
November 9, 200421 yr A Mecedes and a Honda have different bodies, different engines...wehreasAS and FSMeteo have the same body, namely MSFSAS and FSMeteo have the same engine, namely the MSFS weather engine.Sorry I could not resiest :-)BTW, studies cliearly show, that a Honda is MUCH more reliable than a Mercedes. A Mercedes is much more faulty than a Honda.Wolfgang
November 9, 200421 yr If its that good post some screenies!! I was looking at this the other day. Post some screenshots and help me see what you mean!!!ThanksDaniel
November 9, 200421 yr Just want to support the initial post: I bought AS2004.5 last weekend, and the weather depiction looks so much better than the default! I have to admit that my simming is not very serious at the moment (no time to spare), the visual difference is breathtaking! My first flight was from Juneau, AK, and had beautiful haze on a cold winter day. No comparison to the default FS9 weather depiction ...Just my 2c (EUR),VOlker :]
November 9, 200421 yr As nihongo asked, how about some screenshots with and without in the exact conditions?
November 9, 200421 yr blah blah, isn't this old news? But yes, you have to experience it to experience it. Well, you know what I mean. Just do it. billg
November 9, 200421 yr Yup....Took off from LAX Sunday morning...great fog at the field, broke up in Santa Monica -pink skys- and then got immersed again on approach nice rain and fog (just a T&G. I think I have finally completed my tweaking (once and for all). FPS are high 30's with no weather and 100% traffic and about 15 FPS with full weather swirling around. Sometimes on landing with full traffic I go to 9 FPS or 10 FPS but with no stutters so it is OK. Active Sky 4.5 is indeed very remarkable and tweakable to opitmize for any system.
November 9, 200421 yr "AS and FSMeteo have the same body, namely MSFSAS and FSMeteo have the same engine, namely the MSFS weather engine."Nope, wrong.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
