AOA - Nick's PMDG 777 Initial Cockpit Thoughts (Cold and Dark + Raw Data Procedural NDB/ILS)

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Following on from a set of similar videos I did for the PMDG NGX a couple of years ago, I was asked to produce another for the 777.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_tAJ4qz_BYw

This video is fairly long, and covers a cold and dark start, flight deck preparation, take off and raw data procedural NDB ILS approach into East Midlands.

More about our upcoming 777 training here:

Thanks! You could really call this a crash-course for the familiarization with the flightdeck of the 777 and the function of each switch.

Very nice video Nick thank you!  I'm curious to know how did you get such a smooth and free movement around the cockpit?  Looks too smooth to be head tracking and keyboard/mouse control.  Is it initially set through internal EZCA views following a script then just record?  Or else what was it?

Excellent. Videos like this make me feel a lot less scared about learning the 777.

It just gives that feeling that I've seen everything a couple of times before and I'll have a much clearer idea what the manuals are talking about.

PLUS there's already a certain degree of readjustment and awareness because it's NOT the NGX (or so I've heard *tongueincheek*).

Great video Nick, I was wondering if or when you would give us your perspective of the latest and greatest from PMDG.  I have fond memories of your work with the NGX before it's release, this video tops that!    I love how you pan the camera and take us on a tour of the nooks and crannies of the cockpit.  In the 777, the cockpit looks so smooth, clean, and well thought out, compared to the 737NG!   You have done an excellent job at conveying how much bigger the office is here!

As mentioned above, this video and your expert commentary goes a long way in helping the PMDG fanatics start the transition from the older NGX to the more automated T7.  Can't wait to tour the world with this bird!

First of all, congratulations Nick, on passing your ATPL, I hope you soon find the post your looking for. If not you can always tell em you'll fly the MD-11 instead. lol

Another masterpiece of this video and thanks for taking the trouble to do it.  Nothing has been the same since you left and I hope your back for good, or until you are demanded for doing what you have spent so much time training for.

You can guarantee that you have now sold a lot more T7 PMDG simulations caused by watching your video.

Ever since images and videos started coming out from the beta team I was anticipating a video from you and you haven't disappointed. Tremendous stuff. Also, congratulations on your ATPL! Nothing worth having is easy to obtain. Keep believing and working hard and your dreams will come true.

Nick,

Great work.  Congratulations on your ATPL.  I can tell you have done a lot of hand flying recently.  Very smooth.  Did you use Track IR for this video?

Don't forget to ' like' on his youttube channel... it helps spread this beautiful aircraft around ;)

The clarity of the panels is stunning....

Thank you Nick, and PMDG!
