Now that the 777 is out, whats next?

What I would REALLY like to see is not another product for FSX but instead a new "FSX" that would finally make use of today's hardware and giving both us the users as well as all developers the chance to explore and enjoy FS in general like we never did before.

So far I haven't really checked out P3D but I've heard about a version 2 so I think I'll try to find some information about that.

I also remember several months ago or maybe it was even a year ago someone announced he was working on a new version of FS and I remember he seemed rather serious about his plans but not surprisingly it wasn't long before people started commenting on his "project" in a rather condescending way. Too bad I think because even if chances actually pulling something like that off I think it's great with people having visions and considering how we all would be winners if someone or some company actually would be able to come up with the FS we always dreamed of I think that is something all of us should support and encourage.

Arrrgh! Another crash of the PMDG B777X just after take off on EK 435 from Brissie. I thought that PMDG has done enough testing before release!!! SO frustrating. Lucky it is only after takeoff and just climbing above 10000 feet then the whole fight sim X crashes out. I think I will throw my new computer rig out the window if it was during the descent into Dubai after flying for 14 hours!

Hope that patch is out soon and guys out there. Don`t chase them (PMDG) for the B777-300ER. Hope it is not another B777X! So full of bugs!

For sceneries it's Wing Creation's Narita.  Development is in the final stages according to their website

I think the next big thing will be PMDG Boeing 787, my personal feelings goes for the next logical step for them since they have full access to the "Boeing files". When will this be done? unknown... not even sure if they will ever have the "go-for-it" call, but sounds congruent for me.

In the mean time, I'm waiting for Enigma Simulations "Classic" series of the Boeing 737, have a look at their website, it is a well promising product for the FSX horizons.

Read the PMDG 777 Introduction Guide regarding memory and settings to use to reduce VAS.  Thousands of other users are having absolutely no problems with this product.

check this support thread out

I had crashes too.. and this fixed my issue. I still get CTD here and there but not that frequently.

CTD on load that results from errors in the runways.csv or ARPT_RWY.dat files.

  • If you're getting a CTD upon selecting the airplane or pressing Fly Now, please try deleting these two files. runways.csv is in the root FSX folder, and ARPT_RWY.dat is in the FSX\PMDG\NAVDATA folder. runways.csv can be remade using Pete Dowson's MakeRunways.exe tool, found at his website.

IF that does not do it..open a ticket with PMDG and use the Window event viewer to give them the detail of the crash so they can't take a look at it.
