rw/ils freq error

Recommended Posts

Hi! :)

First of all I have to say the 777 is awesome!

I spent all night learning the beast :) Unfortunately i did always have one problem: I chose an ILS approach on the APP Page of my FMC but when I got closer to my destination I got this FMC Message:

rw/ils freq error

Self explanatory that the ILS doesn't work then! ;)

What am I doing wrong? :P

(Thanks for your help in advance! :))

That usually means that the dialed in FREQ of the ILS is not the one for the procedure you have choosen. Can you give some more details?

Airport you are flying to, Procedure used, Any panel state used?

Also check the NAV/RAD page on your FMC on ILS what does it say?

Thanks for your answer Olympic260! :)

It basically happened to me at every Airpot (e.g. LFPG 09L, LOWW 34, EDDF 18). I either used STARS or a vector approach.

The NAV/RAD page always shows 117.30/000 for ILS. (I think it was 117.30 but it's always the same frequency and course 000)

Edit:

I also checked that the NAV Panels shows DATA.

I am using the 777-200LR and start with cold and dark panel state.

Edit:

I just had a look. The freq is 113.70 not 117.30!

Confirmed it must be an issue with the cold and dark state. Please open a ticket on PMDG support portal and I will report it as well,

In mean time when you power up the aircraft go to NAVRAD and delete the ILS freq. It should revert to PARK from which moment it will work correct

I have the same problem with the 77F at KPAE 16R, EDDP 26L, LIME 28, VHHH 07L

So when there is a solution, please post it here.

EDIT: When I delete the ILS Freq on the NAV RAD Page, it works.

Regards, always three greens and happy landings,

Just had the same issue and I think it was an AIRAC thing - I checked the FSX freq+crs - different to the FMC's - and manually entered them in NAV RAD and it worked.

+1

I had the same issue at KSFO on my first flight. Cold and dark panel state.

Got the same problem with cold and dark.

I have a walkaround though:

Go into your navrad page on your FMC and delete the ILS frequency there (117.30) before inputing your arrival.  Should work as normal once you clear that out.

Yup. In fact, you may also press the DEL button and then press the LSK next to ILS after you've selected your arrival.

I usually do this when the FMC message pops up during descent. Clears it right out and enters the correct frequency.

Seems to be a bug.
