PMDG 777 (module 1.5a - Aug 2020)

Recommended Posts

Come on guys, you give such vague informations here .. what should I say?

Please read the manual carefully and I think, your troubles could be solved.

(And no, I will not point you again to where the manual is ;) )

many thanks

Many thanks, Günter!   ^_^

I'm a bit pushed for time so only had a chance to quickly try it once.

FYI — MCP1 LINDA Console messages with the 777:

Although the LINDA GUI correctly identifies the aircraft as "PMDG 777".

Cheers,

Brian

Have you actually switched to the MCP tab in Linda, until you do Linda won't import the settings as far as I can remember.

Cheers, Andy.

Hi Andy!

Many thanks for the suggestion, but no deal, unfortunately.

And turning the heading knob results in many iterations of —

[E] *** LUA Error: C:\fsx\modules\linda/system/common.lua:9: attempt to index local 'actions' (a nil value)

Unfortunately I won't get a chance to look at this for a day or so..... :(

Cheers,

Brian

Do you have a file called actions.lua in the folder called *:\....\Modules\linda\aircrafts\PMDG 777

I think that is the file that is being called at line 9 in the common.lua

No, only the MCP Combo from years ago which is no longer made and the more recent MCP2 Boeing panel are supported. The Airbus panel and M-Panel are not unfortunately.

module version 0.2 online

This module version 0.2 includes:
- Capt EFIS
- MCP
- Display modes
- external lights
- internal lights
- Spoilers arm
- TCAS
- engine idle/off
- APU
- master warn, GS inhibit

----

That is currently all I could do now "easily". I have to work on the MCP Displays as next.

But as far as I can see, the rest of the buttons isn't accesible easily.

I hope, there's coming out a SDK soon ... or do we have one yet?

Otherwise, for further functions we need macros, and I would avoid this ...

Has anybody had any luck mapping the TRIM controls? I can't seem to get FSX ELEV_TRIM_UP or DOWN to work. On the NGX, I use the control created for that: NGX ELEV TRIM downfast. Any ideas?

The default FS trim controls work perfectly with the 777, Note that it is slow compared to other aircraft but this is realistic.

Thanks, I found the control for the trim: 85639. I modified the LUA script to add it, but it flickers the control in FSX compared to the nice hold action you get through direct FSX mapping (outside of LINDA).

Looking at even the NGX LUA script, it looks like for teh fast/slow they just put in a bunch of timers anyways. So.. I guess I'll stick to FSX, not sure why I used LINDA for that mapping on 737 anyways. :)

Yes default FSX trim functions work with the T7.

Do note however that the hydraulic system must be turned on for the trimming system to work. Unlike the NGX, which has mechanical trim I guess, this one is electric/hydraulic.

Took me a while to realize that on my first startup !
