PMDG 777 + LOD 9.5 + 4096 Textures + FB KSFO + REX 4096 is possible

Recommended Posts

Guest

It was close on VAS, very close - about 250MB free, but flight from KSFO to KSAN was successful.

LOD 9.5
REX Weather/Textures 4096 Clouds
FSX Textures 4096
FlightBeam KSFO
AI Traffic 360
PMDG 777-200
2560 x 1600
AccuFeel
MSE CA 2.0
GoFlight Interface

2560 x 1600 4X/16X

FPS didn't really change for me, worse case about 30 fps.

Very well done Aircraft PMDG.  ... I hope I got the image size limit correct, can't remember if it was 1024 or 1280 (these are 1280)??  Apologies if I got it wrong.

Well done PMDG and thank you.

I still dont know how its possible you run at 9.5LOD when everyone else struggles at even 6.5. Not to mention your using 4096 textures. Its like everything that is suggested to avoid an OOM. Do you have some sort of secret backdoor VAS module that sidesteps the 32bit FSX 4GB? Thats gotta be what it is. Else your running a secret 64 bit fsx program thats ultra confidential.

LOL, it was close, if I had a few more clouds it probably would have pushed me over the top.  But this is CA in summer, what are clouds? ;)

I'll probably dial the LOD back some for a longer flights and more scenery libraries and airports enabled.  But remember, this is MSE with no AutoGen, only some stuff I've added to my local airports via IS3.

EDIT: The PMDG operations center is a wonderful tool.  Great job!

Hi Rob,

You're using your own domain to host the images, so there really is no limit. (20 at a time)(warn viewers for large images)

Nice shots.  This plane is amazing me, and I really haven't even gotten started.

Thanks Dennis, I'm just scratching the surface too ... amazing product!

I figured the United livery is more appropriate for my area, given their headquarters.  And adjusted the weather to real world :)

Ya can do this ONLY because you arent loading any Autogen.

Yes, and DX10 helps too, and scenery library enable for only the area I'm flying in.  I've never been a fan of AutoGen that's why I have so much Photo Scenery (2.5TB worth and growing).  I use IS3 to produce AutoGen objects around points of interest and airports.  I use various airports from FSDT, Flightbeam, LatinVFR, UK2000, etc.

I counted 13 in my pictures, but Traffic 360 is set to 100% GA/Business parking density, with 10% AI density, there were 2 aircraft on taxi at the time.  Traffic schedules I have selected are Summer 2012 and Winter 2013.

I'll post a video this weekend with Fraps frame rate counter displayed.

But like I said, if weather got worse it probably would push me over the top for VAS and/or if I used more views.  But as far as FPS, not a problem, VAS is the real worry and I've only done short 1 hour (ish) flights so far.  But isn't this the story of FSX anyway, one has to work the compromises to fit one's enjoyment.

They are beautiful pics.

If you look at the AA settings its "treat overide as Application controlled" and AA is checked within FSX - DX10, thenim pretty sure its about 2x AA and not much better.

Performance wise Im sure this wasn't bad, absence of AG and the filter settings very low. Visualy I could never go back to that.
