September 6, 201312 yr I love the thing. Just landed in PHNL from CYVR not to long ago and it was a great flight 9800x3d | 64GB DDR5 6000 Ram |MSI Gaming Trio OC 5090 @ 3.0GHZ | X870e Mag Tomahawk | 2x 2TB M.2 | Lian LI Dynamic XL ROG Case | Hotas Warthog Joystick and Throttle, Crosswind Rudder Pedals | Corsair Nightblade | K95 RGB| | LG 28" 4k, Dell 34" AW3420DW Ultrawide| Windows 10 Pro | MSFS2024 | Custom Water Loop |
September 6, 201312 yr I was one of the first to get it (pressing F5 on their Facebook page does have some benefits  ) and must say that I'm impressed with the textures and the overall feel PMDG has managed to impart on the add-on. From the VC to how it handles, it looks and "feels" like a big plane so kudos to PMDG for that. I was also impressed with the sound set as I spent about 45 minutes pushing buttons and turning switches on or off just to see how far PMDG went. Good stuff. Now I'm probably going to get trolled for this but after getting over the initial "WOW, its a gorgeous plane" feeling, to me it feels like a really big, powerful, -NGX. Maybe I need to spend time with the tutorials to see and learn the differences but right now, that's how it feels to me. Lots of people have complained about the cost and I can understand why even though I don't agree. I've seen and purchased lots of add-on's that either look good but have crappy system depth and don't fly well (the JF L-1011 and TBM850 comes to mind) or are lacking something. PMDG seems to have nailed this one just like they did with the -NGX and its because it is a quality product that I did not hesitate to get it. Off to read the tutorials........ This is my concern - the automation is so sophisticated you pretty much sit back and don't do much...my favorite plane right now is the Cool Sky DC9 Classic because you always have something to do...
September 6, 201312 yr Overall, I think she is amazing. Like with the NGX, it will take a few months to really feel comfortable with the flight dynamics, commands and overall set-up of the aircraft. The 777 sure flies nice! I do miss the some add-on applications such as a fuel planner and take-off calculations, but I'm sure all that will come in due time. Kristof Kristof Barocz

Want to hear something interesting? The more I fly this plane is more it feels not only like the -NGX but like an -NGX/MD-11 hybrid in that the automation is like the MD-11 but it looks and flies like a big -NGX. Its probably just me though..... I also have not noticed any better FPS performance on the T7 vs the NGX. Yep drudgery. Not sorry I bought it though. Now back to chasing thermals in Cumulus X. Woot! Chris Strobel KSNA

September 6, 201312 yr For those getting 30 fps all around, what traffic settings are you using? I haven't bought the T7 btw, I'm just curious.
September 6, 201312 yr Having operated the NGX over the last two years I am not surprised by the level of detail and the "immersive" simulation of the T7. I believe PMDG state of the art is unique in the flight simulation world..! My first impressions after three short range flights: FPS (at least on my system) are very close to the NGX ones, maybe just a little worse, but definitely comparable. There are a few bugs here and there but I believe this is pretty normal given the complexity of this baby and hopefully they should be fixed soon...the sound is absolutely fantastic: the engine spool up sound during engine start or at take off is simply jawdropping... Despite the level of automation hand flying the T7 is really a pleasure... FPS seem to me a little bit more sensible to mouse cursor being hidden or not than they are on the NGX (in my case not the 12 FPS drop that someone else reported in another post but they are definitely affected by the mouse pointer issue)..this is something PMDG should really look at. Overall this is another masterpiece and, if you like flying the heavies in FSX the T7 is definitely a must have in your fleet... September 6, 201312 yr When NGX came out I said "Wow, I can't believe what they've been able to do with FSX! Well worth the $70." When 777 came out I said "This is really nice, but most of the wow factor comes from differences in the actual plane. Not sure I can justify the extra $$$" Extra US$20 on the NGX? Hmmm.... maybe just inflationary rise over 2 years but I hope the 300 model is going to be in line price wise with the 600/700 and not more expensive as well. Still, brilliant execution from PMDG once again. I have a modest system (i7-930, 16GB RAM, 1.4GB GTX480) and have not had any issues with texture loads or frame rates. I'd say comparable to slightly better than NGX as has been reported. Greg Barber VeeOz Virtual VATPAC

Regis It certainly is a nice looking plane. As far as sex appeal, not sure if I would put it quite in the same league of a Spitfire, Staggerwing, or Starship (those 'sexy' planes all start with 'S'...coincidence? ) Altho the 777 is a quite big tube...infer what you want from that LOL. Do simmers fly these big tubeliner planes for the same reason some guys need to drive big trucks? :Big Grin: "The knack of flying is learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss." - Douglas Adams Tejon 'TJ' Stanley
September 6, 201312 yr If it were a woman, I could toss out my Viagra pills. That's really creepy Well, I guess my humour was lost on you. I just think the NGX is 'all that and two bags of Tostitos'. Hope that doesn't creep you out as well. R. Scott McDonald B738/L Information is anecdotal only-without guarantee & user assumes all risks of use thereof. Click here for my YouTube channel
