Now I have tested three sound cards all with same results... I use realtek sound on board, x-fi from creative and Asus aural...

Crazy! I will test your settings, but why won't work sound cards too... They have enough power... Something is wrong with sound settings... But at the moment i don't have a clue...

The problem is the way the sound file is loaded. Most soundcards do not cause this problem, some do. To that end, PMDG will probably preload a few more strategic files so they do not need to be loaded at the time of event. I doubt that they will decrease the quality of the sound, but I am confident they will try to at least get rid of pause at touchdown.

My settings in that thread was to enable sound through on-board audio, becouse i don't have soundcard, and i didn't used on-board audio :) Sound was processed by CPU and that caused stutters for me.

If you have a good soundcard, that is not needed.

My stutters are gone after that

But this problems i have not only with 777... 737NGX do the same. So there must be a general solution for this issue... And this is not only with touchdown sound its more. Some bumper wave files and altitude callouts do the same...

@B247NG i have tested with your settings wont work.

I get this issues with callouts like: Glidslope or 2500, with AES lights rumble and many other sounds... I have tried many hours to solve this issue with no luck. I'm totally exhaust and unlucky.

It's not dependent of 777 alone. 737NGX and AES make same issues... Crazy, absolute crazy...

Swen, are you absolutely sure that you don't have sounds processed by CPU? I was sure that i use Realtek on-board audio until i checked mainboard manuals. When you check sounds, do you have this enabled under playback devices?

It's important not to use HDMI. I insist with this becouse a good friend of mine just tested this on his system and that worked for him too.

I wrote this allready in other thread, i fixed all freezes and stutters two days ago. For me, stutters are fixed when i moved all sound processing from CPU to on-board audio. Freezes are fixed after i cleaned my DLL.XML and EXE.XML of left-over entries. FSX is stutter free now and i see even increased performance.

When you uninstall some addons, their DLL's are deleted, but DLL.XML entries are still there. They need to be deleted in order to avoid conflicts and freezing. I had Ezdok hanging and FSX freezes every 10 seconds becouse of that on long flights.

I set my FSX to real time priority at task manager. Its look much better now! I will check again exe.xml and dll.xml.

I will disable hdmi ports. I use only analogue plug with normal logitech sound set.

Thanks for your help!

Has anyone suggested editing the aircraft.cfg file to not play the .wav file for the skid on touchdown? That's the classic source of this issue.

Hello Guys,

i have searched the inet up and down so long and now i found this thread! I have the same issue. Its an issue with most addons and big sound files. Its happend with AES, NGX and T7. Callouts, touchdowns and so on.

My soundcard in use is a X fi music from creative.

If really a new soundcard will help, PLS let me know!!! I'm very interested to solve this issue.

Thanks a lot!

PS: So i switch to my onbord sound but no luck... :(

One other thing: make sure your sound card is playing back at 16-bit/44kHz bit and sampling rate. Above that will add overhead that really isn't necessary in FSX (but useful for say, recording acoustic guitar solos in a quiet studio room).

Thanks for sharing your information. I tried this out too. I edit wav files too. But it doesn't matter. Looks like that second flight is much smoother. Generally i have this issue with other add ons too.

Sound on board or not tried all out with different sample settings. A little fix for me is to set CPU priority to realtime...

So i have tested and checked many things, but nothing really help me full. But now i found something in my graphic card driver settings via nvidia inspector.

So what i do is following:

Set Sound in FSX to my speakers

Set cpu priority to realtime

Its a little bit better now. I found something more:

Nvidia Inspector have a settings calls maximum pre-rendered frames... I set this to use 3D application Settings... And bingo. I think that reduce this kind of lags...

I found this today and i test this settins and i thing its well done now!
