Blue screen after switching to outside view

Yesterday after about six flawless flights in the 777, I was taking off out of LAX heading to PHKO. During the climb I decided to switch to the out side view. The aircraft always shows the skeleton view and then fills in.

Just as I switched, I got the blue screen, Had to hold down the start button on the computer to shut it down.

I cam back a couple hours later and loaded another flight, and it flew flawless. I did notice before the crash that the EICAS was not displaying the out flow valve indicators, duct press, diff press ind etc, at the bottom of the screen. They only displayed when I selected the Pneu page. When I flew it the second time, These items displayed when selecting through all of the pages, which is normal. Don't know if this was the issue or not.

Has anyone had this happen?

I just got this error a few minutes ago.  I was flying KLAX to KMIA.  All was well.  About 3 hours from KMIA, I checked in on the flight.  I was moving around in the cockpit fine, displays were fine, but when I hit the S key to switch outside, I immediately go the blue screen with the error "memory management".  I've never need this before with the NGX, or the other flights on the 777.

Have you followed everything in the introduction?

Sounds like you're hitting memory leaks in FSX (switching to external view and getting instant CTD is a classic sign).

 

* Disable all AI

* Disable all AutoGen

* Check all scenery for landclass, and move the landclass to their own seperate scenery folders WITHOUT a corresponding texture folder

* Delete FSX.cfg and let it build a new one, then add the line HIGHMEMFIX=1 to [GRAPHICS]. This is the only change that actually works - the rest are snake oil.

Check your hardware. Make sure your memory modules have not become unseated. Check all your components. BSOD always points to hardware in my experience.

Check for large deposits of dust around the components, fans etc. Maybe heat build up etc

 

 

Check all scenery for landclass, and move the landclass to their own seperate scenery folders WITHOUT a corresponding texture folder

Not sure what you mean by this one Robin. How would one find landclass ? Do you mean airport LC, or region LC ?
