Interesting concept, how do you reconcile time compression in a log book?   Yes, I keep a log book on a spreadsheet, flight simulators are probably the closest I'll ever get to being a real pilot.

My computer: ABS Gladiator Gaming PC featuring an Intel 10700F CPU, EVGA CLC-240 AIO cooler (dead fans replaced with Noctua fans), Asus Tuf Gaming B460M Plus motherboard, 16GB DDR4-3000 RAM, 1 TB NVMe SSD, EVGA RTX3070 FTW3 video card, dead EVGA 750 watt power supply replaced with Antec 900 watt PSU.

Landings shouldn't be a problem; it's just a question of having a good co-pilot

...and nice background music. I can spot that you have impeccable taste in music! I prefer Bach on short hauls, but Mahler is king of oceanic flights :)

I just uploaded QuantumLeap V1.1 into the library--I found/fixed a bug that caused the date to be reset to Jan 1st if you warp ahead to a time during the next day (e.g. you warp from 2130Z to 0215Z). I also added an option to put the plane on a specified inbound radial to the destination fix, and included another quick-n-dirty utility to display your FSX machine's free virtual address space on a WideFS remote connection--this can be useful if you ever find yourself battling OOM issues.

Having issues with the navadata lookup over WideFS for QuantumLeap v1.1. (using a laptop over the network)

The readme says to put the full path to the PMDG/NAVDATA folder, which I did but bottom of the window still says no .ini file found and only manual input is allowed.

I also have PFPX on my laptop, so I tried pointing the .ini file path to the NAVDATA folder for that, but it still said no .ini file found.

I'm also confused, because the instructions say the program is looking for a navdata file which sits in the navdata folder, but the navdata folder inside the PMDG folder doesn't have that file.

The navadata folder for PFPX does.

Either way, neither path worked.

What am I doing wrong?

Mine works. Difference I see is you have 2 back slashes, I have one

I also mounted my fsx drive

Navdata Z:\FSX\PMDG\NavData

I am also of course running off my laptop

Sounds great, but I don't see why you would want to fly long haul, yet only perform take off and landing. Surely just fly short haul.

I don't fly the 777, I fly 757's mainly, my co-pilot is a pain in the butt, but she knows how to be cute as seen below.....

The .ini file has to be in the same folder as the QuantumLeap.exe executable--there is no way to set a different path for it.

The only path to be set (in the .ini file) is the one to your PMDG NAVDATA folder.

Of course file sharing has to be enabled on the two PCs when operating over a network.

Sounds great, but I don't see why you would want to fly long haul, yet only perform take off and landing. Surely just fly short haul.

A number of reasons...first, taking off heavy for a long flight is a much different animal performance-wise than taking off on a short leg. Second, it allows flights to/from a much wider variety of distant city pairs not feasible if you don't have 8-15 hours to spend at cruise. The program does allow you to fast-forward to interesting segments of cruise, as well. I will usually warp myself to a point short of the mountains when crossing the Alps in Europe, for example, then warp again after crossing. I have thousands of hours of real-world long-haul flying, and replicating the utter boredom of hours at cruise is not interesting to me. I'd rather fly the portions of the flight where I'm actively doing something...I can happily leave the rest to my imagination. My typical B777 flight with QuantumLeap involves taking it from preflight planning through level-off at cruise, then I warp to a point ~180nm short of the destination and fly the descent/approach/landing/taxi/postflight. Total time is typically around 2 hours.

Of course for those that don't see the utility in this, there's no requirement to use it.

The .ini file is in the same folder.

I set the path to the PMDG NAVADATA folder, as I said in my other post, and it's not working.

File sharing works, all permissions set. I can access the NAVADATA folder running on my desktop from across the network on my laptop.

What else am I missing?

I also mounted my fsx drive

Navdata Z:\FSX\PMDG\NavData

The readme gave an example of installing this over the network, and the example path had two slashes.

"The program works well over a network using Pete Dowson's WideFS utility as well.  In this

case, share your FSX directory over the network, and enter the file path in the .ini file.
For example, if your FS computer is named JOHNHENRY, and you shared your fsx directory as "FSX"
then the .ini file entry should read:

NAVDATA \\JOHNHENRY\FSX\PMDG\NAVDATA"
