Reverse Thrust

Recommended Posts

Hi, having finally purchased the PMDG 777, trying to setup my controls. I've come across a possible problem

I'm using a home made throttle quadrant (spoilers, throttles and trim wheel)

when i activate reverse thrust on engine 2 the spoilers lever on the 777 moves to full (all on the ground), i have checked in fsuipc and fsx controllers and cannot find a conflict. Is this supposed to happen?

Thanks

Phil

This is the correct behaviour. It happens on the real plane as well.

Hello, I read this thead carefully, but I seem to have a different problem:

No matter if after landing or on the Taxiway testing:

I can open the reverser, REV green is also indicated and the speed brakes move up.

So far so good.

But as soon as I push the Thrustlevers forward Reverser and Spoiler close.

What could that be?

Harry, full names in the PMDG forums please.

This is normal behavior for FSX/P3D.  You didn't say how you 'open' the reverser, but assuming it is by pressing F2 then increasing reverse thrust is accomplished by continuing to press F2. As soon as you press F1 or an increase control such as F3 or F4 then reversers close. Using a thrust axis has the same behavior.  There is no axis for reverse thrust, only the F2 action.  Simulator limitation.

Hello Dan,

thanks for your reply.

I am operating the reverser with a command from Linda (there is a special list for the 777) on my Logitech System.

But when I keep pressing it nothing happens. (Except opening reverser and spoiler).

There is no other reverser command neither in FSUIPC or in P3D V3.1.

So I cannot assign F2.

But in P3D is a button to import controls.

Might that help?

Where do I get this file?

I will also look for FSUIPC and Linda updates.

Hello Dan,

I got a tip from Pete Dawson for the correct assignment:

The button/keypress throttle controls are all called "throttle_xxx" or "throttleN_xxx" where N is the throttle number, and "xxx" is Decr, Incr, Cut, or Full. The default assignments for the F1 - F4 keys are Throttle Cut, Decr, Incr and Full respectively. So F2 actually invokes Throttle Decr. There is no specific reverser control supported by any version of FS. F2 just decreases the throttle setting a tad, no matter where it is.

And it works perfect with FSUIPC on F2. :-))

Thanks to everybody

Hi xxx

wihout your name your message will be deleted. !

> Harry, do you by any chance have the full detail tutorial setup from Pete Dawson regards reverse thrust setup.

No, only what he wrote me in my last message.

> I'm also trying to config reverse thrust for MD11 upon pressing F2 the reverse thrust levers are jittering like there's a conflict, any help much appreciated.

Are your levers in Idle before pressing F2?

I chose for F2 = Throttle Decr
