Does anyone have the program running on Win8?

I've a laptop with win8 x64. Works fine.

Thanks for writing this very helpful program.

Thanks for the quick feedback. That reassures me somewhat.

Hi all,

I'm a little confused, does this tool now calculate the derated takeoff?  or are the calculations still disabled whilst it's in testing?  Also the first download link to the avsim library points to a version older than people are talking about.

Dean Farley

This tool not calculated yet because even serious errors and incorrect data in my formulas are. The original EXCEL file by Lasse works correctly.

The current version is used to optimize and customize the user interface.

Thanks a lot for the information Skino,  Really looking like its going to be a great tool.

Im confused

does this calculator work correctly now or is it still being developed because the version I downloaded previously doesn't give a result yet?

.

cheers

The IACO.txt and runways.csv seem out of date. Just downloaded zip file from http://www.file-uplo...DeRate.zip.html and started to try it out. The firts three airports had incorrect information. FAJS changed to FAOR several years ago. EDDF has three runways not two. 7C/25C is not shown. KTPA changed runway numbers in 2010 from 18/36 L/R to 01/19 L/R. 18/36 is still in the runways.csv.

EDDF have 4 runways to be precise...

...a shame that this tool wont run in my system (W7 64bit), even the x64 optimized version wont.

Hi Michael, this might help you, as it helped me with the same problem:

The runway data is from my FS. To update the data please download the MakeRunway. EXE here.

http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.html

Then only the EXE, not the folder, copy in the FS root directory and start. The file Runway.CSV is created. This file copy in the Data directory of the DeRate- calculator and you have the current runway data of your installed airports.

Start the EXE and copy the CSV, when new airports have been installed. Maybe I integrate a database update function in the Calkulator.

Thanks for the information. I downloaded the zip file to a computer that has a default FSX on it. The FSX that I use dailly with all of the add-ons on it is on another computer. There is no way I would download any of the derate and make runways onto this second computer. Using information from FSX on the first computer would be useless. It's probably more out of date than the derate info. I will just wait on TOPCAT. Thanks anyway.

The Runway. csv contains data from the FS and the installed airports, not the real. Because you will use the tool only for the FS (hopefully   ) this is ok. An update feature is built into the tool. See post  #59.

Who needs Realworld data can edit the Runway.CSV with EXCEL for example.

The calculation is not yet complete and bug-free, it is still a GUI test. He should be finished now  with the new version.

The GUI is now clearer and more logical structure.  Please post here if you find errors.

Where the program is not running, I'm sorry but I have no solution to the time. . .

Now I'm working on the formulas and the correct calculation. I hope I can finish the tool this week. Most of it is already done.  :Whew:

Michael, run Makerunway.EXE on your dailly use-FSX computer and copy then the Runway.CSV with a USB stick on the computer where the tool is running. The Derate calculator requires no permanent connection to the FSX.

This tool just keeps getting better and better.

Thanks a lot for the time taken to develope this.

Great job on this app!  Thanks for your contribution!

One thing I've noticed is that the MTOW for the 200LR is incorrect.  You show it as 545,000lbs.  According to FCOM1, 545,000lbs is for the 200.  The 200LR is 766,000lbs.

Thanks,

John
