what programming language would be best to learn to do this sort of thing?  I think most will say PHP/MySQL yes?

what about Python?  what database could I easily access with that?

what about Visual BASIC?  or this isn't web based is it?

I need something easy to learn and yet allow database operations.

Ciao!

HTML5 CSS Javascript PHP MYSQL... That are the things for that.

Java or Flash was a way too.

Easy to learn are no languages. The most problem are compatibility between all clients.

You must start to say: What is my goal. What will i develop. If you plan a big thing then you have a hard stony way in front...

I would suggest looking into making it a mobile app as well. More people are on tablets and phones then ever before.

I'm Dyslexic, what's an error to you is not to me

So you mean something like FSEconomy

Microsoft Asp.net (MVC model is the most powerful) and C# using a Microsoft SQL database is another option. One I am familiar with and is extremely powerful platform too. And host your website and databases on Azure which has the best performance for price these days in my opinion.

yes. FSEconomy but it would be like FSEconomy on steroids!

If its gonna be web based?

I suggest PHP @ Mysql...

OBTW: FSEconomy is open source: Download repository

Written in java.

I would pay to have the FSEconomy Source Code written in PHP, MySql...

Why dredge up a two year old post? Obviously this idea must have gone nowhere. ^_^

FSEconomy

'NexGen FSEconomy' perhaps?

Edit.  Can we find out from Brian if his idea went anywhere?
