September 16, 201312 yr Author I even put my rex clouds to 512 so i can have the density to 12 [fsx config override] B) Alex, do you set the cloud coverage to Maximum? cheers. Daniel choen
September 16, 201312 yr Commercial Member Alex, do you set the cloud coverage to Maximum? cheers. We are going off topic here but I will say a final thing. In fsx, maximum cloud density = 8 in the fsx config. This doesn't ever give true overcast conditions when they require. I manually set mine to 12. Alex Alex Ridge Join Fswakevortex here! September 16, 201312 yr Author So guys, i have just finished my flight from London Heathrow to LLBG, no OOM this time. I was thinking though since i am using uts, gex, ftx global, and experience x lights for night flying (i really love night lights what can i do  ) what you are using for the night? will it be enough to let ftx global do the night lighting? cheers. September 23, 201312 yr I remember years ago flying alomg with my little group of clouds. They stayed right along with me. I remember thinking, this ain't too realistic. I do believe it was with FS9? Must have had the LOD set real short.
September 28, 201312 yr Another option you might want to consider to get rid of your OOMs issues without lowering your Settings, is to move to DX10 Preview mode. DX10 code (yes even in FSX it does) shifts many of the rendered graphics out from the FSX.exe Process VAS space to the OS kernel to be placed and processed in the GPU VRAM, freeing memory from the FSX.EXE VAS allocated space. it works like charm, test it out. I am on DX10, LOD of 8.5 , with FTX EU and UK2000, REX, NGX, etc. and not even single OOM. many other report the same solution that it works. Joel Strikovsky

I've just completed a flight from KFJK to KLAX in DX10 without an OOM. Most sliders to max, AI on 60%, TML2048, with the PMDG 777. VAS was around 3,6 on landing. FPS around 20 at JFK and LAX. Pim

FSWC (FS Water Config). Get rid of glowing water at night, keep the reflections from the moon. Water should look pitch black at night apart from reflections, like can't tell if it's water or a black hole kind of black.
