December 7, 201312 yr I am finally able to use a single weather injector capable of giving me weather to fly from a T7, to the Discus X :-) jcomm, does this means CumulusX is redundant from Monday the 9th Dec? Bartłomiej Ender
December 7, 201312 yr jcomm, does this means CumulusX is redundant from Monday the 9th Dec? Yes, in my FSX soaring experience with ASN running, one doesn't need CumulusX any longer. @ A.J I have done 95% of my testing with the T7 and NGX from short 45min flights to 10hr long hauls in real time and I have no issues whatsoever, a real joy. Its really enjoyable flying these birds through the ASN sky feeling all the bumps along the way. I would keep your pax seatbelt sign on when the weathers a bit on the rough side or they might end up with a few bruises lol!! +1 and I've tested ASN with the PMDG MD-11...thousands of miles racked up with no issues, S-turns, or any problems whatsoever. PS: Great screen shots, Chris! Not sure how you got it, but those cloud shadows, even if an illusion, in that last shot are fantastic! Wayne KlocknerUnited Virtual
December 7, 201312 yr I've tested ASN with the PMDG MD-11...thousands of miles racked up with no issues Now that says something. Any weather engine ive tried which all have various methods of wind and pressure suppression, the MD11 is the most sensitive to, and will disconnect the PROF (VNAV) and drop down to minimum safe speeds. Good to hear! CYVR LSZH I7-14700k 64gb 6000Mhz DDR5 ASUS z690 ROG STRIX Gaming RTX 4080 Super,

Good to hear! As part of continued testing, I've enabled FSX's turbulence and thermal effects, am running ASN, and am 4 fours into a 7.5 hour flight with the PMDG MD-11F. So far, so good... December 7, 201312 yr jcomm, does this means CumulusX is redundant from Monday the 9th Dec? IMO, Yes, at least in as far as ridge lift goes! I use X-Plane 10 as well, and for a long time X-Plane has occupied the first place in terms of turbulence and shear modelling. Well, that's history too, specially on the final betas of ASN where these effects have been tuned to even higher standards. It's trully a unique experience what you'll get from ASN. One of my preferred tasks lately has been to search for significative weather, using ASN's search menu and go there in FSX ( DX10 mode with Steve's DX10 fixer ), and test the effects. I am amazed by the level of coverage of the various "weather variables" and the quality with which the associated effects are reproduced and affect your aircraft. I believe ASN will set a completely new standard in terms of weather modelling for FSX and soon P3D v2 ! December 7, 201312 yr I have to say I am interested! I'd also like to have that historic option back which I always missed in OpusFSX. And that smooth transitions look great too. And I see that I can get ASN for the upgrade price as an old user, which is nice! My main question is (maybe I've missed) how fast ASN works. The last version I used (ASE) took ages to download and convert all data: how much time takes ASN from start (doubleclick the icon) to having the weather loaded? I only use P3D 2.0 btw so I won't get the demo the coming week but hopefully I will be able to try the demo within a month In P3D!

December 7, 201312 yr BETA Testers releasing images of a forthcoming product are against our terms of use, unless the BETA Testers can show that they have been released from their BETA Test NDA. It is also our call as to whether we consider then if those posts constitute a violation of our commercial "advertising" policy. See our policies in this area. Click the link below and PM Damian directly if you need confirmation, the NDA has been lifted I can assure you, I will have been with Hifi for 5 years as an unpaid beta tester on the 10th of December. Damian has posted on a few occasions to answer direct questions from forum members in this thread so he has seen the images, he would surely have contacted you or some other admin to get the images removed if the NDA hadn't been lifted. As for advertising well you need to keep a closer eye on the forums, one example would be the PMDG forum, their staff (not beta team members) were advertising the NGX and 777 during beta for numerous months and they weren't reprimanded for it, so I'm confused why the reprimand in here. http://forum.avsim.net/user/101922-damian-clark/ Cheers, Andy.

December 7, 201312 yr About 20-30 seconds. Ok, thanks. That's faster than the versions of AS I've used so that's nice. (But not as fast as the first versions of OpusFSX though, which was seconds! However, that one now also takes something like 20 seconds to get all things done.) Is that time the same for a (if possible) manual reload (or change) of the weather during a flight?
December 7, 201312 yr 20 to 30 seconds is a over conservative estimate in my experience Jeroen, with a fast broadband connection the weather downloads and is depicted in less than 10 seconds on my PC. Cheers, Andy.
December 7, 201312 yr Forum owner or not doesn't give you the right to be rude Tom. Rude? Yeah, okay Andy. "As for advertising well you need to keep a closer eye on the forums..." That's not rude? Presumptuous and condescending? Telling me how to run our site??? I will always give as well as I get Andy. Think about that the next time you decide you know better than we do with AVSIM and how you decide to communicate it, okay?

My time includes the download...I'm on satellite cause that all I get out here in the boonies...your mileage may vary with that. There is not only weather being downloaded, but AIRMETS/SIGMETS and PIREPS too!! Devin CYOW
