September 21, 201312 yr First shooter? Yeah, (sigh...) My son is much involved in the 'Call of Duty' franchise. When he is playing it on the big screen, I usually/have to...leave the room, go out on the patio. It stirs up too many bad memories. If I find him playing it as I come to see my grand daughters, I seem to have nightmares for at least two weeks after. Bad stuff. I ask him why he plays it...and he always comes back that I lived it, so why can't he 'simulate it'? Bob...his generation has no idea, of the real deal. He can turn off the monitor and walk away. You and I could not. We lived it, smelled it, tasted it...and mourned when your Company lost a soul(s). They don't understand, the X generation, but for them, it is only a game.... Anyway...enough typed on that subject! --------------------------------------------------------------> A better subject: I have all the ORBX regions to date, have FSXG, and am now eyeing that Yellowstone head's up I just got in the email. Looks really good for the CRM! Bob...we're almost brothers after this thread today....and look,.... one brother would never give another a bum steer...GRAB FSXG....RUN....GRAB...it truly brings the sim visually to the 2013's. My gawd...drop the $100.00 and be amazed (along with UTX, though!!!! Most important until we see the OpenLC....) I was almost ready to retire FSX...but now, can't stop firing her up....and also a side note. I have to SOLELY lay my lack of any further CTD's and OOM's at the feet of FSXG. Why?.....because the coverage and depth of depiction has allowed me to drop both the Auto-Gen and Scenery Complexity sliders to Very Dense, from my what was the standard; Extremely Dense. That..and that alone without touching any other graphic slider...ended my 20 minute flights..... Tonight...with all this talk about Van Nuys...(good stuff, man, good stuff!!!!), I am shortly going to program a flight between Van Nuys (the new freeware goodie from this morning) and Phoenix, Sky Harbor.... Happy sim'ming...and again, was a blast down memory lane, good, bad, or indifferent! It brought back many faces to mind, of good and strong, upright men, still living, and those, now in honored memory.... Mitch'er Hey Mitch, I guess I am lucky for some reason as the shooters really don't bother me as I really look at it as a game. Maybe that is the difference. The game is about wits to me and not really the kill. Maybe that is the difference as to why some can and some cant. Don't get me going on today's generation. I am really discusted as to w here things are going these days. Really, I see this country (and it's people) slipping into darkness and I am not a negative person by any stretch. Anway, yes I lost 2 of my best friends from H.S., so I do know Mitch what yo mean, and I personally have battled with my faith and continue to question why things happen the way they do. Incredibly frustrating sometimes. I feel you Mitch! As for the veterans, I will never stop giving. I volunteer for the Patriot Guard Riders of Southeast Texas. Best thing I have ever done in many ways. I engrave high-end glass plaques for the families of a KIA's and engrave wood frames for any veteran who dies during active duty in this region. The guys and gals I have met here through PGR are the best and have hearts as big as... well Texas! I have actually closed down my website and only engrave stuff for causes which mean something to my wife and I. Oh, this is a flightsim forum, I almost forgot. I am thinking about the Global but I am so spoiled on all of the vector. LC and other good stuff that comes with the Orbx sceneries that I realy don't want to fly anywhere else. That might change but I am a short hop pilot anyway. Take care Bud!!! Bob I guess that Bob was ribbing me, LOL! I had thought as much. I graduated from Mul, so she and I were an item for the duration. She was a veritable beauty in form and spirit, then. I can only imagine the lucky man who shared his life with her over the years. But...I am also a very lucky man....for there are many, many wonderful women who have made their men, that much better....I'm one for sure! My wife has been a life-keeper! Cheers! Mitch, ya!!! I was kidding Bud!! Did you actually think I dated her LOL? I just saw Ted's post. I was just messing with you Mitch. Darn, sorry you thought that. She was too tall for me anyway. September 21, 201312 yr Installed these easily enough... haven't had time to really test them yet, though. Are there any elevation problems I should be aware of with FSGenesis mesh? Regards this generation... I'm tend to agree that things are going downhill. This internet thing brought out all the wackos and sadly is creating wackos of people otherwise inclined to normalacy.. I'm young enough, but the teens and preteens on the internet these days engage in things that astonish me in their corruption. And then theres the faux-japanese comics/animation filth and the bronies... all the gamers, fanbois, and their ilk will be our ruin.

I have 2 grandchildren coming over in a little whiel (girl and boy). The Boy is really interested in flying. Everytime he comes over this is what he wants to do. One problem though. He always wants to crash!! Go figure. So from now on, and I told him on the pohone, if you want to fly, you fly like a pilot and he said OK. We will see. He knows the basic six and what they do so he is at least learning something. Bob Officially retired

May we never forget our fallen comrades, to our last breath, and look forward to clinking a bottle of state-side brew with each, once more, and it will be on Heaven's tab!
