RTE 2 - Diverting Causes FSX Crash and corrupt FMS

Featured Replies

Having made an approach into an airport, and before hand setting up a RTE 2 for my alternate airport. on trying to activate the RTE 2, and then change some of the legs, it causes all sorts of issues, I got pin errors, on one of the CDU's then the VNAV page was all corrupt text as cycled throught CLB, CRZ, and then when trying to set an altitutde on the MCP, it crashed FSX(freeze with sound) rebooting to saved flight to just after the go around, doing the same resulted in the same crash as soon as I tried to enter a altitude on the MCP by pressing altitude selector button in.

I noticed also that loading a route into RTE2 (as in requesting route) it uses the old RT2 file and not the RTE file.

my FMS really corrupted with all sorts of issues trying to change route. think there some major issue with code with RTE 2 functionality

I have just tried a diversion to FNLU with the -300ER while enroute from Sao Paulo to Dubai last night, and the FMS got screwed up when activating the RTE2, as i've lost the VNAV and startedto get errors but managed to land as the ILS saved the day.

I think this is not yet fixed in the SP1 release.

Send steps to reproduce the issue to support.precisionmanuals.com

RTE2 worked fine for me the other day, but I hadn't put anything in RTE1 prior to activating RTE2.

Just an update on the topic.

I have tested a security emergency diversion to Shannon EINN while En route Cairo to JFK. The RTE2 worked flawlessly and I did not lose VNAV information, and LNAV/VNAV took my 777 down to the runway without a glitch, except for me taking control on final and doing a very unstable final approach :)

I won't be logging a ticket for now. I could not reproduce the issue.
