AS2012 weather winds aloft to T7 FMC

Following the instructions received with the program and the video from frooglesim (PMDG 777 - FULLY LOADED, KJFK to KDEN Part 1)

to load winds into the fmc (legs / rte data)

The files are in the correct directories and with the same name as instructed but contrary to the result in the video my FMC answers with INVALID ENTRY

Someone any idea what goes wrong ?

You can't save the file as .txt, so make sure when you copy and paste AS 2012 data, that you "save file type" as "All Files" and not .txt

Can you post here the contents of the .wx file (the part you copied from AS2012)?

I agree with what other says here but it you use the search you I bet you can find what you're looking for as this has been covered in about 4 or 5 post.  One of witch solved my problem I was having.  You'll even find sample flight plans and weather files for testing within them.

DO NOT, put a number at the end of the ICAO city pair. In your 777 flight plan folder you must have ICAO/ICAO.rte and in your WX folder you must have ICAO/ICAO.wx start FSX and your 777, on the FMC look in ROUTE REQUEST and load your route. In the LEGS page select RTE DATA, Request Winds and it should work. The videos and tutorial show putting a number at the end of the ICAO's this will not work

It took me along time to figure it out too.

I have successfully imported the wind for the route and can view it on the RTE Data page, should it also import into the descent forecast area or do you still have to manually enter this?

Probably is now. This is an old reply that I posted back in September just after release.

For those interested, the latest version of PFPX will export winds aloft directly to the PMDG 777 wx folder and will then upload from the fmc automatically with no cutting and pasting, just request winds aloft and its there.

Once a flight plan has been imported into AS2012 and processed, AS2012 automactically sends it to the PMDG WX folder in the correct format. It does not make any difference as to what type of plane is involved with the plan. I have had the 777, NGX, MD-11, and CS 752 wx files end up in the PMDG WX folder Of course with the exception of the 777 they are useless since the file can't be imported into the FMC.
