The T7 is fantastic, but.....

I use my T7 for bush flying in Alaska, never a dull moment

Now THAT'S funny! I found myself smiling reading that :)

But....

It has a brown cockpit...

I agree that the 737/787 grey would look so much better.

A<380 love at first flight

I flew a flight with the 737 ngx last night after doing a few dozen flights with the 777. The automation of the 777 and amount of downtime is what kills me. It has nothing to do with the quality of the pmdg product. This is what the T7 is like. Its much more automated and the pmdg version reflects this. In fact the pmdg simulation is very advanced its just that if you don't have a malfunction then you don't see a lot of the systems going on in the background. A good example was I had a warning go off because I was a bit hard on my brakes when I was taxiing out and they got heated. I took off and the temp was still pretty hot. I checked the abnormal checklist and sure enough there was a checklist for this very situation and it told me to lower my speed below a specific level and then lower the gear again to cool the temps down. I did this and watched as my gear temps dropped. It was pretty cool. I also was fiddling around with the cabin and flight deck temperature and watching in the computer as the temperature in the plane rose and fell. There are actually a lot of little things to mess around with while in cruise if bored. I really miss fs2crew for the announcements and also using fscaptain for missions. Once these items are implemented with the T7 I think I will enjoy it much more, but I do miss flicking all the switches on the 737.

I have been an avid PMDG aircraft sim flyer since the early ages of the FS9 737, and I have been flying the NGX for most of the little time that my busy day by day life has allowed me to spend on this great hobby over the last couple of years. I purchased the T7 the same day it was released and have been flying her since then. The level of details is amazing, the sound is simply amazing and quite frankly I am not having all those issues that may people seem to have here in the forums.

A couple of days ago I decided to take a break from her and have a ride on the NGX. I flew a short hop from EGKK to EDDM....and, well, guys, the same moment I powered up the a/c and the cockpit came to life, I realised that probably there will never be another aircraft addon in FSX that will give me that feeling of realism, full immersion and "being there" that the NGX can give. I enjoyed every single moment of the flight to EDDM, from taxing out from EGKK to the manual landing on rwy 26L in EDDM.

T7 is fantastic, but I think there will never be "another NGX"..!!

Happy flying to everyone..!

I agree. There is something very immersive  about the NGX. I love the 777 and glad I bought it but something about the aircraft does not catch my interest as much. The 747 I am really looking forward to. I never got around to getting the MD-11 but have flown it. I vow to purchase this plane in the next couple of weeks. I liked that one a lot too when I tried it.

Silly but something about the brown cockpit also puts me off.

B777-200LR handling demonstrations at airshows with totally empty ZFW and 40 minutes of fuel on board and no derates :P That'll keep you busy.

better read the Fcom, below approx 200 tonnes, derate and assumed temperature must be used to maintain controllability. (although I think they make exceptions for le bourget airshow and akin ;))
