Garmin Heads up Display (HUD)

Not bad. And makes you look less silly than the Google glasses I guess. ^_^

This looks great. I did some research. Takes a smart phone app connected with bluetooth or wifi. Initial reviews are these apps are getting some really bad reviews. Constant updates, long load and download times, poor support. Think I'll wait a while.

I am wondering if any states/countries would consider that the HUD display "obstructs the driver's field of vision"?

I hope not since this is stock on many cars.

I think the poorly worded comment was regarding whether the projector placed on the dashboard may be considered as blocking or obstructing.

I wasn't being specific whether the device projected or what the device projected. All I know is in many states in the US, you can't have anything that projects up from the dashboard which could potentially block the driver's field of vision. That also applies to objects that may dangle from either the sun visors or inside rear view mirror.

Ok, so if you were referring to the actual displayed image, then as cessnaflyer says, it is actually standard equipment on many vehicles. Kind of silly to imply that the see through holographic image is an 'object' blocking or dangling in front of your view, whether you were being specific or not.

On our BMW 645ci it was fairly low and would only be blocking the first feet of road in front of you.
