Happened twice now, any help would be appreciated.  First time crash happened when I tried to switch the middle display from Checklist to Nav, and the second time happened when I tried switching from "PLN" on the captains MFD.  EDIT : I feel as if I need to note, I have flown a little over 40 hours in the PMDG 777x, and haven't had this problem until now. Also noted that I installed FSDreamteam's Vancouver last night, but I landed there in the 777 from London with no issues.

There are so many factors involved in such an issue. The Vancouver/Seattle area is very prone to OOMs and CTDs because it is one of the more demanding areas of the sim. You throw in some of the complex add-ons involved and you are really pushing the boundaries of FSX.

 

Are you using Orbx region and airports as well? All of that coupled with the 777 is just too much for FSX unless you turn down some of the big resource hogs (autogen, AI traffic). Variance in AI traffic could explain why it works at some times, but not at others. You could also then look into corrupt or missing AI texture files which could be throwing your computer for a loop.

 

I never bought CYVR from FSDT for this reason, the area is already incredibly demanding as it is.

I don't have any Orbx's regional stuff.  Autogen was never a problem before, and I have AI turned off.

Just did another try, got up to 21k in altitude, and when I tried to switch from the decent part of the checklist to nav, that's when it crashed.

SLIGHT EDIT: I tried again (call me stupid) but I got it up to cruise altitude without even touching the checklist..and no issues..Still looking for a possible reason as to why it did crash?

I had two apphangs on the same flight KDFW-KMIA where I downloaded the flightplan and imported to the PMDG folder as a .rte file.

In this case,I deleted this file,and created the file manually via the FMC and no crashes.

Sometimes a text file can bring down a whole OS.

Something is crashing your DLL when some functions are called... You have UAC turned off, right? FSX folder excluded from antivirus scanning? I see you have FSX installed in default location which is not realy good idea and it's not advised by PMDG, becouse of OS drive and security issues.

 

Check that you have everything updated - FSUIPC, C++, DX. Have you tried to submit a ticket?

Not sure it this helps but my initial flight worked fine and then the following two flights from EGGP would cause the Flight Sim to freeze on take off and I had to reboot the pc. I found that it was due to starting up and then selecting the Cold and Dark panel state. I now load the plane up with its normal state i.e. engines running and then shut everything down so that it is in a Cold and Dark State. I have had no issues since doing this and although your problems are with the flight sim crashing rather that freezing, it may be worth giving this a try..
