Tuning ILS Radios

Hi all

 

I am trying to do a visual ILS approach but I can't tune the nav radios, I keep getting invalid entry. Any help would be much appreciated.

Did you try the VOR1 or the dedicated ILS receiver entry in RAD NAV page?

Hi Oliver,

 

Tried both. I even put the ILS freq in the area just above the KB entry area.  Wherever I try to enter the ILS freq I just get 'Invalid Entry'.

The only way I have managed to resolve this problem was selecting one of the ILS approaches. I understand this issue will be resolved in the next update by PMDG.

Trying to delete the wrong entries in the RADNAV as suggested by some other users

didn't work for me.

I use the notation 'fff.qq/hhh' which works for me - maybe I've always selected an ILS approach first?!?

in order to tune an ILS freq in a 777, you need to insert "freq/course". Otherwise will not accept the entry.

Contradiction. Instrument flying is conducted with no visual reference to outside whatsoever.

 

To tune the ILS, press NAV RAD, and enter the ILS frequency and inbound course, e.g. 110.3/265 into LSK4L IIRC (it might say PARK if nothing is already pre-selected or manually entered).

He's either hand-flying the ILS approach or performing a visual approach with the ILS as a backup ... so what?
