December 3, 200421 yr AVG is poor in my humble opinion.Found a number of trojans lurking on my 2nd pc which it didnt detect. It also has problems quarantining virus/trojans when it DOES detect them!Installed "F SECURE" as recommended by someone here and have never looked back.F SECURE is also easy to unload when you want to do some gaming/FSRegardsAdam
December 4, 200421 yr helloi currently own NAV2005 and in my idea it is the best i don't want to advertise it.it may reduce the system performance but it is the best anti virus i have ever seen.it is not comparable to thing like AVG or.. .it is like comparing 747 with cessna.it does'nt have any noticable impact on my fs performance (maybe just 1 frame when autoprotect is active).it even control the os files and restrict access to crititcal files.there are antivirus testing organizations which work on these kinds of software and each year they publish the test result .according to the resuls norton is still the best and has the highest score.check here:http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1759,978893,00.aspthank youtouradg

December 4, 200421 yr I just two days ago read the pinned topic here on WinXP maintenence which also suggested dumping Norton. I was using Norton system works. I did the uninstall, plus the manual reg clean given on Symatec's site. I got about 5 fps, scrolling in the VC improved and I'm happy!! Just loaded on AVG and it immediately found a virus NAV had missed. Waht could be better? Mike
December 4, 200421 yr Hi, In attempting to remove NAV, have a problem... NAVSHEXT.DLL Remains in C:Program FilesNorton SystemWorksNorton AntiVirus Nothing Ive been doing deletes it... including using RegCleaner, listing all DLL files, checking it there, and deleting. On Reboot, Avasti says there is another virus Checker, and is not active. But, if I click on the Avasti Icon, then it loads the on Acces Protection Control... Anyone have any ideas how I can remove this file? Thanks for any help...
