October 10, 201312 yr Ofcourse people have a right to make money and I am all for capitalism... But if someone takes FSX and converts it into part of the Porn industry (I don't know how that could be done...but lets say it is possible) for more profit, As a capitalist, I can't fault capitalism...but I can always mock the douche bag who would make such a tasteless transition with FSX totally ignoring its audience and then crashing it. October 10, 201312 yr Guys, The fall of Microsoft Flight Simulators is similar to an airline that crashed. It wasn't one event that triggered the catastrophe as it was a series of events where one thing led to another. Joshua Howard was a very small contributing factor in these series of events that led to the end of Microsoft Flight Simulators. As been noted Joshua Howard is not here to defend himself so I choose not to poke fingers at him. I'll just make fun of his Crytek Poly Girls he is currently working on instead. Those girls are creepy. Cheers B) Matthew Kane I'm Dyslexic, what's an error to you is not to me
October 11, 201312 yr As an interesting side not I see that FSX is still ranked #1 at Amazon for PC Simulator Games. Not bad for a 2006 title! Simmerhead - Making the virtual skies unsafe since 1987!

October 11, 201312 yr Always thought Josh was a schmuck. SO glad I'm out of the threat of being in a role where I'd have to mouth Happy New Speak Business Platitudes in response to criticism, MS became the king of that genre under Ballmer. It's pervasive in the video games software industry. Ugh. FSX got killed at a time when that whole business was chasing the "free to play, with micro transactions" online fad. Between Facebook and Zynga, and the Korean/Asian online games behemoths, it clearly appealed to the most short-sighted, greed-obsessed executives in the software media world as the short, easy path to Capitalist Heaven and Grace. Steve Jobs demonstrated otherwise, however. Quality may start out small; loving attention to the details a passionate audience for your wares craves, is always small. But it wins over the long term. It is the true path to success, and the money will roll in, in unpredictable ways, as an afterthought. Chase perfection of your art and money will chase you. Sometimes. Chase money and you will destroy everyone's dreams, and yourself in the process. It's that simple. We will remember van Gogh. We won't remember Ballmer, and his little band of business shills.

October 18, 201312 yr Disappointing... I may be the last earthling to notice this: Happy to see you're back, Stephen!!! (Sorry for the off topic.) What happened to AVSIM
October 18, 201312 yr Not the clad women that bother me, but Joshua Howard should of never been near flight sim gene to start with. First, flight sim history goes back to late 70s and early 80s. The brought in somebody looking to collect a paycheck or bonus. Read the interview now see how oblivous or ignorant he was about flight simulation in general. All the budget directed toward flight could of been used to create incremental improvents to fsx. Free to play does not work on simulations at all. I don't blame Joshua Howard at all....like all of us...when the sun shines, make hay, for the rainy day cometh. I lay the blame for the death of FSX solely at the feet of the Microsoft executive suite THAT WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR HIRING HIM TO LEAD A FLIGHT SIMULATION TEAM. The same executives that, let us remember, also seek in their compensation packages, at least 50 percent of their salary base in bonuses in each and every year. They are the *#**@&&!! that spelled the death of that title, not the axe-man who came in swinging by their invitation...... My 7 cents....
October 18, 201312 yr Everything, everything, anywhere, today is subordinate to money. And I mean, good company name, consumer trust, proud on brand, pr, whatever, they dont care, only the money for the damn stockholders is what counts. Love for the product you made ? forget it. After sales ? haha. Thats the mainreason imho.
October 18, 201312 yr Disappointing... And you are? ... The World is divided into two groups. Those who say "Give me a link" and those that provide the link. WWG1WGA
