MyTrafficX 5.4C - ATI - traffic levels

Recommended Posts

Danny, glad to hear the 2012 schedules are working for you. I am going to do more testing tonight but at 40 I get the ntdll.dll crashes. I am now at 30 and flights during today have been OK. I will see what happens with a couple of flights tonight. This is really a perplexing problem. I may just go back and reinstall 5.4a, 5.4b and then 5.4c and test along the way?

Have fun!!!

Hi Bob. Yeah, Lavon is a really big place for sure.   But even way out here, Dallas and surrounding areas are slowly creeping their way out here.

If I had a, b and c, I would reinstall and upgrade and once I got to c, go immediately to 2012 schedules and not even mess with the 2013 stuff.

Or as Ted has done, stay on b until they can find out what's wrong.

If I receive another error on 2012, I'll ask 4.5b.

Bob, do me a favor and look in the directory where your fsx.cfg lives and tell me if you see a file fsx.cfg.txt . I've been seeing this since I installed 5.4c. It is a fresh file every time FSX is started. I don't see the file with the 2012 schedules.

If you do, I'll bring it up in the forum to Burkhard.

Danny, I do have the file and quick glance looks like it is a copy of my fsx.cfg . I am running the 2012 schedules............

Any idea what the purpose of that file may be? Based on the time stamp it looks, as you suggested, that it is created each time FSX is started.

Bob

I'm not seeing it on 2012. I deleted mine. If you're on 2012, move it out of the directory and see if it comes back. Strange. I'm going to go ahead and ask him about it.

I cut it out and moved it to a temporary folder. When I started FSX and checked it was not there. I started a flight and checked it again, not there. I ended FSX and checked again, not there!

Interesting..it was created on ‎Saturday, ‎March ‎16, ‎2013, ‏‎12:56:27 PM and modified on ‎Yesterday, ‎October ‎26, ‎2013, ‏‎11:01:20 AM, which is when I probably 2013 schedules running.

Thanks Bob. I pretty much guessed it wouldn't do it on the 2012 schedules on your system either .I placed the questions about this on his forum. You can chime in on it too if you wish. I'll bet it's some coding accidentally left in. It shouldn't be modifying the original fsx.cfg but once if I am not mistaken. Not every time FSX starts. And that would only be on install. We shall see.

I just completed a 2 hour flight with aircraft slider set to 35, I tried 40 but it caused a CTD. The recent flight at 35 went OK, I landed parked at the gate and ended FSX. AFTER ending FSX I got the CTD. I have also posted this information on the MyTraffic forum. Several other people are experience same situation but in most cases it is with 2013 schedule, mine is with 2012 schedules also.

ALL: I have uninstalled 5.4C, reinstalled 5.4B, rebuilt the MyTraffic scenery in FSX, reset my FSX aircraft slider from 40 to 50..............

I flew the same slight I have flown the last 6 times when I got CTD's and this time NO CTD's successful flight except they assigned me a gate which already had an aircrafticon_confused.gif

Sounds like if you want to fly uninterrupted, you should hang around on 5.4b until they figure this out.

Danny, you are correct and that is what I plan on doing. Hell I want to fly not debug software!!! I did that for 42 years!!

Glad to hear your ntdll.dll ctd's went away.  The ntdll.dll is connected to system memory.  A lot of things can cause the ntdll.dll ctd but usually lowering some high fsx settings usually does the job.  I fixed my ntdll.dll crash once by removing the uiautomationcore.dll from my fsx folder (did not know it was there; I had not put it there.  We now know a commercial developer accidentally added it to his installer and has since removed the uiautomationcore.dll from his installer).  When I removed the uiautomationcore.dll, the ctd's went away.  There are several other individuals who have indicated this fixed their ntdll.dll ctd too (up in the CTD Forum).  I have seen where bad tweaks in the Fsx.cfg have caused this crash too (bad tweaks meaning a bad Bufferpool setting or other tweak that takes up resources).

I just started getting a BEX/StackHash ctd for some unknown reason starting yesterday.  I have MyTrafficX 5.4c installed and I can definitely say that disabling MyTrafficX in the scenery library fixed my problem.  My crashes were happening while fsx was being loaded and I saw that it occurred as the sea, air, and whatever traffic was being loaded (about 88%).  Occasionally, when I was successful loading FSX at KJFK or KLGA, I would take off and suddenly the busy icon would show up and fsx would freeze and I had to close FSX.  In the MyTrafficX scenery folder, I renamed the KLGA AFCAD and successfully loaded fsx at KLGA but, upon taking off and looking around, I got the busy icon and fsx crashed.  So, only when I disabled MyTrafficX completely does the crashes stop.  So far I have seen the crashes only occurring around NYC.

Why is this?  FSX worked great with MyTrafficX since I updated to 5.4c (about a year ago?).  Suddenly it is crashing.  I didn't go on the site and do any updating.  What I'm trying to find out is some commonality.  For instance, I just defragged and "optimized" my two HDD's that contain FSX scenery.  In some cases, the program compressed "rarely used files".  Not sure if that would have any affect.  MyTrafficX files are located on one of those HDD's.  I also just installed MSE V2 New York Hi Res scenery.  But that would not have changed any of the MyTrafficX files.  MSE uses the default airports or any commercial addons.  I also upgraded to the latest Nvidia WHQL drivers.  So that's all I have done recently and wondering if anyone who has had the recent MyTrafficX ctd's did something similar.

Just thought I would post my issue here too as it's strange that many people are starting to see ctd's with MyTrafficX installed.

Best regards,

Jim

Jim, According to the MytrafficX support forum, version 5.4c was just released Aug 23rd of this year. 5.4b was released December of 2012.

http://forum.simflight.com/forum/7-mytraffic-support-forum/

If you updated a year ago, it must have been to 5.4b.

Regaring trying to find some commonality: I just built my computer this year and before installing MytrafficX, all I had installed was FSGenesis mesh, FSG landclass, GEX USA, UTX North America and some Eaglesoft jets.  FSX ran fine. Then I installed the freeware ORBX CA airports and MytrafficX starting with 5.4 and applying patches until I got to 5.4c. ntdll.ddll horror. I have to admit though, neither installation went smooth, due to limited instructions from both companies and I think ORBX assumes that you have FTXG installed which I do not.

I was so frustrated I was just about to visit you on the CTD forum. Instead, I uninstalled both packages, removed any related files I could find, and then ran a registry cleaner. FSX ran fine again. Next I reinstalled the free ORBX airports. FSX ran fine. Next I reinstalled Mytraffic 5.4 and tested, 5.4a and tested, 5.4b and tested. FSX runs fine. I'm afraid to try 5.4c but I suppose I should to make sure the ntdll.dll crashes were not from a botched installation the first time. I have an older 780 GTX driver 9.18.13.2049. I probably ought to update that, but with my limited time for FSX I tend to leave things alone if they are working.

FSX ran fine. Next I reinstalled Mytraffic 5.4 and tested, 5.4a and tested, 5.4b and tested.

My crashes were happening while fsx was being loaded and I saw that it occurred as the sea, air, and whatever traffic was being loaded (about 88%).

Ted & Jim:

I had similar problems and eventually uninstalled MTX 5.4C and reinstalled 5.4B. After that everything has been running fine. I posted my situation on the MTX Forum Support site and Burkhard indicated that they probably "might" be related to 2013 schedules. I had the problem in 5.4C with both 2012 and 2013 schedules. I am now running 5.4B with 2012 schedules and no problems at all. With the type of flying I do it really doesn't matter to me what schedule I use. I have had AI traffic in the DFW area as high as 330 AI's and no problems.

I believe an updated 2013 schedule is being prepared but I am sticking to the 2012.

Regards,

 Bob

I'm running 5.4c 2012 schedules due to the ntdll issue. I leave my traffic slider at 20% until I learn how to overclock my i7. My frame rate drops to 10 sitting at the gate at FsDreamteam KDFW. I have seen it hit 7 once or twice. Disable 5.4c and it jumps to about 20 frames. Leaving the country for a while so overclocking will have to wait until next month. But, I'm not getting the ntdll error anymore on 2012 schedules.

Jim there are some patches on the 5.4c support forum that they are asking people to try.
