quality or thoughts about imaginesim addon airport KCLT,Charlotte Douglas Int

Featured Replies

Just curious has anybody bought any airport addons from imaginesim, talking specifically about KCLT/ Charlotte Douglas International, which was released 4/13.

I have many airports from FS Dreamtea, FlyTampa, Latin VFR, and Flightbeam.  Anybody have an opinion, how this addon from imaginesim, compares to other developers mentioned previously.  The screenshots look pretty cool, but you never know until you buy it.  It sells for at simmarket at $28.00.

Concluding, any thoughts, greatly appreciated, talking about how it stacks against the competition, graphically, and so forth.

    thanks, Ronny

Lots of problems in dx10 even with the fixer, the fps are decent but you gotta have a decent system if youre flying pmdg type stuff in there and don't think you'll get any support from them. I have purchased clt and atl and had some problems so I contacted support and those idiots never even emailed me back. So buy are your own risk and Remeber that the morons over there at simmarket deleted negative reviews, they did mine anyway.

that's good enough for me, to be truthful does not sound like fs dream  or flytampa standards.

Ya it defently a level below those guys

It's included in Justflight's box "World Airports 3 - North America" (5 ImagineSim airports bundled).

I've seen that box in several "bargain bins" - at those prices they're still (some) value for (rather little) money.

EDIT:

This one seems to be an updated version. The bundled/boxed version is older.

What happened to AVSIM

I've got KMCI. They make pretty decent sceneries, but overpriced IMO and not up to the level of the other developers you mentioned.

I like their airports as long as you don't expect the highest quality. They do a lot of smaller airports that nobody else does. KCVG is nice being a big cargo hub. I have not tried KCLT though but make sure you click their updates section in each scenery on their website to make sure you have the latest patches.

I have both v1 and v2 of KCLT from IS.

For some reason v1 performs better and looks about the same as v2. Version 2 doesn't perform much worse and has the newer runway included which is why I bought it, but I hate the newer style runway lights they use, which is the same reason I never upgraded KATL from the original v1 to v2.

Overall I would give it a 6.5 or so out of 10 on looks and a 7.5 out of 10 on performance. I get a pretty steady 25 FPS there with weather and traffic, but it would probably be a lot better if FSDT, FB or FT did it.

If you're in need of a KCLT there's not much choice than to get it or use a modified/enhanced ADE file, but then you'll be missing the custom buildings, ground poly and photoreal back drop. It's not a bad buy for the money and I think you can download and install it using the Flight1 wrapper, so I am guessing you could get a refund from Flight1 if you dont like it.
