November 8, 201312 yr Ok you got me. I knew of the AD but didn't realize it was so in depth. I thought it was just to not allow them to run dry. Justin whetstone Is this a specific company SOP? The AD I just read mentions 1000lbs. So with the above example you could use the center pumps for ground and takeoff ops. Just curious. Justin whetstone That is SOP for one company I've flown 737s for, but not the case for the other 737 operator I work for. What I described is from the Approved Flight Manual for the Center Tank ADs. There are AMOCs or Alternative Methods of Compliance from which companies can choose. Air XYZ might do it one way and ABC Air another. Matt Cee
November 10, 201312 yr Alaska B738 from Anchorage to HNL.... Would be nice to see such flight planing... Diversions are far away...
November 10, 201312 yr Would be nice to see such flight planing... Diversions are far away... Its planned much the same as all the other AS Hawaii routes with the -800 from SEA,PDX,SMF,OAK,SJD and SAN. Two ETOPS alternates are given, Cold Bay (PACD) and PHLI for yesterdays flight, more then likely the same for todays. The EEP and EXP and CP I believe are plotted much the same. The only real difference I've noticed is that most of the west coast to Hawaii routes will generally follow on of the airways i.e. A331, A332, R463, R464....etc..though I've seen flight plans that just skip across two or three airways or just bypass them all together. The ANC-HNL/OGG/KOA routes don't use published airways as there really aren't any. They just use lat and long fixes instead. For example, this was yesterdays FP for AS flight 870, ANC-HNL. ANC..ODK..55N52..50N52..45N53..40N54..35N55..30N56..ZOULU..ZIGIE..MAGGI3..HNL That compared to this mornings SEA-HNL FP of SEA..HAROB4..HQM..SEDAR..A331..ZOULU..APACK..MAGGI3..HNL Ryan Syferd (KSEA)

You could easily transpose a number and it requires a lit more position reporting. Matt Cee
November 11, 201312 yr Those off-airway routes are a pain. You could easily transpose a number and it requires a lit more position reporting. Oh I believe it! Just for use in the NGX I'm having to check and recheck for transposed numbers as Im punching them in. RW would be even more of a pain I'd imagine. Ryan Syferd (KSEA)
