November 10, 201312 yr "Just imagine if they could reach something similar to this" Unfortunately the elephant in the room is the amount of resources they have to make this vision a reality. It seems like they are pretty much stretched to the limit as it is right now. So it might take a very long time to happen.
November 10, 201312 yr Plus with all free add-ons,(not including the plane) you can get x-plane to look like this. UrbanmaxxPro is priced were it should be a no brainer to buy. Now if I could just get my hand on SkymaxxPro Flying over the Delta in route KIAH - KMIA

November 11, 201312 yr Author Mitch, which version of SimHeaven do you use with UrbanMaxx 3D: Europe OSM only or Europe OSM + Autogen? BTW there is a 1.01 patch for the new B757 dealing with the SASL bug... I use Europe OSM+Autogen. The results are a beaut!
November 11, 201312 yr Author My initial plan was to come into the sim community as an X-Plane 10 pilot but after reading about law suits and developers unwillingness to hop on board the X-Plane train at the time I moved to FSX. Nothing can beat a 64-bit native code framework. If DEVS would just.. jump in with both feet and balls to the wall I would have moved to X-Plane myself. There is no need to 'move'...but one can simply add to the jewel box. Trust me, you can have both on your hard drive, and enjoy the strengths of each to the max. I say, by owning both, if you have XP10, and FSX(G), you pretty much have it all....pick what you want to accomplish...and then choose the platform that will get you there for that particular flight.......
November 13, 201312 yr Author This morning, one of the best sim-flights ever. KRDU-KYMR The weather towards Myrtle Beach was getting rather nasty, just as I landed... I would have to say that now, as I have Xplane set up in the config screen, and with the edition of PPP texture using UrbanMaxx 3D Extreme...I have no idea how over the next few months, how I will log flight time with either FSX(g) or XPane(UrbanMaxx Extreme). Xplane (in my present configuration) has totally captivated me as far as immersion-of-flight is concerned. With Xplane's road system, the proper speed of traffic, and the volume of it (as smooth as silk), actual trains, commercial and passenger going about their business upon the tracks, great forested, urban and rural depiction, 3D shadows upon and inside the plane, all of it, as seen from 5,500 ft ASL.......Xplane is now a most SERIOUS and immersive flight platform. I can't wait for v10.30 and John's promised UrbanMaxx v3.0. I can be patient though, for what I have upon the screen...is fabulous...simply, fabulous..... signing off, as a most happy Xplane (and add on's) user. (large smile).
