software question

I just bought a new rig, loaded up fs9 and Ifly...downloaded REX. Everything was going great! So I started adding more. Popped an old version of FDC in to add, and things weren't so great anymore. It tells me that the program can't start because MSVCR71.dll is missing.

Fine. I moved on and tried to reconfigure REX and was told that d3dx9_32 &34.dll was missing. Can some kind person tell me what in the world is going on and how to fix it? Thanks!

Run Windows Update.
