Best performance method to run vatsim/fscopilot on remote pc?

Recommended Posts

Greetings all,

I've got fscopilot and fsinn installed on the FSX machine.. and the entry in the fsx config files etc..

I disabled Fwinn from loading on the FSX machine (i dont think i made any other changes in fscopilot on the fsx box)

I then installed fscopilot and fsinn on the remote laptop.. I run the control panel (traffic signal app).. everyything seems to autodetect fine.  I was able to configure the FSInn UI to connect to vatsim on the laptop.

The goal here was to keep everything on the laptop, while still using the microphone, headset on the main FSX machine and minimizing any possible FPS impact.

When i run FSX, the traffic light control panel still loads on the fsx machine.. i'm assuming this is a must, in order to use the headset on the local machine?

Everything else connects fine via simconnect from the remote laptop and I get the ding when connected through my speakers connected to the FSX machine.

Is this the correct way to configure things for best performance while using a headset on the local fsx box? (Or am I gaining anything fps wise at all by splitting it like this)

Thanks for any input

Ah nice ok.. thanks for confirmation.

I saw the fscopilot traffic light symbol on the local FSX box after launching FSX (despite turning off that option in local fsx fscopilot settings), so I wasnt sure if this was right, but i believe it has to run to provide voice ability (on both machines).
