Unless you are a developer, plan to become one, or need to be able to run P3D on two linked computers, the monthly license would be a waste of your money.

It ain't rocket science folks!

I understood discussing the EULA is off-limits.

Unlikely. Seems LM is only focusing on core upgrades, and leave almost everything else up to external developers.

I have my old Core 2 Duo ... I don't mind building another PC if P3D would use multiple PCs. I'd be happy if I can use two Video cards and and have more than 4 screens...

Which is exactly what I want... core competency. Everyone does what they do best. And we put em together the way we want. Best of breeds. Perfect!

this isn't a 64bit platform meaning that OOM can still occur

Going from 32 bit to 64 bit is a big leap... very big leap. nmaybe the next time around LM would rewrite core modules to be 64 bit. Maybe.. Hope is eternal. :)

Can someone tell me if all PMDG products will not work in P3D2, or just everything from the T7 and beyond?

Unfortunately none do.

The J41 and the NGX work fine.

And PMDG MD11, does it work?

this isn't a 64bit platform meaning that OOM can still occur, and from what I'm seeing, the dreadful blurry terrain tiles are still very much present. not to mention that the clouds lightning look a bit unrealistic, and cartoonish.

64bit is actually not big priority if all that bad code is cleaned up and memory management is alot more effecient in its use. One reason we get OOMs in FSX, is that it doesnt seem to release memory very well and keeps piling on the memory. Thats why the VAS gets bigger and bigger the longer the flight and closer to 4gb. Im pretty sure I read that they addressed all that.

Blurry terrain and unrealistic clouds is subjective isnt it? Depends how toned down the setting is to keep it all in balance and also the underlying scenery. FSX default scenery sucks, so what was our opinion when we were all using FS9 towards FSX introductions.

Whats the alternative? We continue one with sick dying FSX OOMs and all, or we explore other options and P3D is not the only one. Point is that we all want improvements, but never want to accept advancement.

I think I understand your (right) concern. However, very few hard-core simmers care too much about differences between FS9 and FSX and even less about FSX original sceneries, because many of them use something else they bought from add-on developers; and quite a bunch claim they have their sys working fine. So, the alternative has to do a bit more with down the road when Win7 dies or when MSFT quits registering FSX keys

The fact that the PMDG wont work in Prepar3d wont stop me investing in a new sim, but it will stop me investing in PMDG ! In fact I would not be surprised if PMDG eventually come to the party but with (and this is PURE CONJECTURE on my part), a financial dual licence upgrade model. They are after all a very smart and astute business.

I believe LM indicated v3.0 for 64bit (please don't quote me) ... guessing most likely will have a 32bit and 64bit version 3.0 where the 32bit version will be compatible with existing products and the 64bit version will obviously break compatibility.  This will give folks the opportunity to slowly migrate as developers migrate their products to a 64bit version (same would apply to their "professional" customers).
