Prepar3D v 2.0 will come out in November

I totally agree. I expected a huge wave of screenshots and videos, yet I have to look everywhere to find just a few.

Maybe its because their core market is not gamers, but rather, professional institutions. And trust me, you will not find them wasting their time trying to post amongst us lot of whinging, over eager, demanding, back biting, know it all wannabes. They would not get a word in edgeways!

Bring back the good old compuserve days when those professionals gave us a helping hand and us mere gamers were more than willing AND appreciative enough to say thankyou and learn from this great hobby, rather than bite the hand that feeds us.

Hi all, can anyone tell me what aircraft, vehicles or craft are included in v2 and are there any other aircraft specific to the professional version for using the weapons platforms? Or was that version not released for beta testing.

Also, can anyone say if you need to buy the pro version to use the weapons or will that be left to 3rd party developers to bring out as at the moment, there are a few aircraft addons that already fire weapons etc

I understood discussing the EULA is off-limits.

Gerry, you of all people should be able to tell the difference between a 'discussion' and simply answering a question by pointing out the obvious.

Good Day Everyone!

Please do not ask me where I found this out. LM is using a very sophisticated parsing program to access all of the forums to attain the level of excitement concerning their upcoming v2 release.  These software algorythms will help them gather keywords and statements to compare with their DB keywords in order to help them determine the cost of the v2 product. My suggestion to all would be to play this down, and try not to show too much excitement. I have come up with some positive keyword replacements for those types of words like "awesome" "can hardly wait" "I have my credit card ready", "an early xmas gift", "can't sleep",   and many others. These replacement keywords will help tone it down a bit in hopes that the v2 cost be affordable for any budget. Please choose your words very carefully. Words such as Ooh-la-la can be replace by Lah-de-dah or Whoop-de-doo. Their db is extensive and is cross culture, so please be careful.

You forgot to mention LM's involvement in training above-top-secret personnel to pilot anti-gravity craft being tested over Groom Lake with the use of P3D's new default craft, the Zeta Reticuli Sports Model saucer.

I know there's a lot of money in aviation because I put it there.

I think it's real. I mean, why would they lift the NDA on November 15th and wait until November 18th to reveal the info and the pricing?

I won't be surprised if the Academic licence (if one exists) is going to cost $100 or more.

Gerry, you of all people should be able to tell the difference between a 'discussion' and simply answering a question by pointing out the obvious.

But is it obvious that any "student" can use the Academic version?

Actually the opposite, if little enthusiasm is shown, it will show less demand, which will drive costs up, to make up for the loss in volume, They have to be able to make up their development costs, and make a profit, so the less people buy it, the higher the price needs to be to make up the difference. The more demand a lower potential price would be needed to reach their goals. It's actually the opposite of the normal supply vs demand theory because all of the costs of the product is up front. Once in production, unlike boxed software, there is little cost other than bandwidth, needed to distribute downloadable content.

Thanks

I think so,  as this word is used to express mild annoyance or impatience.

Geez, I never looked at it that way. So, what this means is we need to express much more excitement than we all have done to date. Can everyone please post some "I am excited" type statments

Simple. Microsoft was a marketing machine. With alot of promotion and as a game heaven forbid that word.

This is a real simulation. Not a game. LM and p3d is never presented as such. Its for the serious simmer who wants to train, and learn all there is to know about flying and put those skills to use whether it be in simulation only or a career at some point in RW.

Further, there has been alot of bashing to make it fail among FSX users. LM is not going to push it on anybody. Only the market of 3PDs and its users will determine how it plays out and the excitement it develops or not.

And if the price point is indeed 199$, then that weeds out a whole lot of people who are not serious about our hobby or as a simulation as a whole. Im guessing that if you spend money on serious simulation aircraft, weather, and scenery, along with charts, and navdata, your excited about this next sim that above all hopes to make it alot more stable and removes alot of former fsx bugs opening up alot of doors to possibilities. Thats all weve been asking for the past few years hasnt it?

+1   That is it in a nutshell.

The fact that the PMDG wont work in Prepar3d wont stop me investing in a new sim, but it will stop me investing in PMDG ! In fact I would not be surprised if PMDG eventually come to the party but with (and this is PURE CONJECTURE on my part), a financial dual licence upgrade model. They are after all a very smart and astute business.
