I hadn't even noticed the red "down" button until it was mentioned in this thread!

OK Guys,

Stop bickering!

You sound like teenagers forced to get up early Saturday morning to do chores!

Go back to bed then and dream of Megan Fox!

Kind regards (I think),

Jeroen - interesting comment. When I first tried P3D 1.x - I set it up just as I had set up FSX. I was so disappointed I returned the product. A few months later, after reading a lot of glowing comments, I decided to bite the bullet and try again. This time I did a clean install and made no tweaks. Haven't looked back since. I caution everyone who purchases 2.0 - do a clean install and try it for a while before you apply all your usual 'fixes". You might be surprised.

Neither do I. The ability to "down vote" was just recently re-enabled. Since it appears that some folks simply cannot resist misusing it, I predict a very short life for this feature...

 One of the first things that crossed my mind was, it's going to be fun too see how long this new system will last. It's a system made too be abused because people can't resist taking "revenge" with this feature or use it purely because they may dislike certain individuals. Even the "good" people eventually is going too abuse it when they feel mistreated.. It's not going to work as intended no matter how good the intention to add it was.

And some people will get hurt by it, personally I don't care to be downvoted, after all it's not the end of the world that some people don't like what I say. I'm used to it and it wipes off easily, but many people will take it very personally and feel very bad about it.

So in many ways the old system was better, if you say things that no one like you will stay neutral and not getting the feel to be pushed out of the communety just because some people are a####### and will downvote you no matter what, and if you say something that people like you'll get credit for it. That way everyone will be happy and not feel left out.

Everyone says stupid things from time to time including myself -_- And there isn't really a need for downvotes because  if one says something stupid you'll get flamed for it anyway or even banned and that gets you too rethink what you post, that's punishment enough in itself..

I never ever look at (or even notice) those vote buttons. And I couldn't care less if a post of mine would be down voted 50 times. Total waste of resources imho.

Uhm, weren't they supposed to reveal the pricing today? What happened?

They said "this week" - we still have 7 days to go!

From now on, I'm going to downvote every post that mentions the downvote button!

The GREAT thing about reading the forums on my tablet thingy is that I don't see any up or down buttons... How cool is that :)

From now on, I'm going to downvote every post that mentions the downvote button!

I'll give you another downvote to spend mate   Careful with your spending though, there's a quota...

I don't understand the downvotes

Is Megan Fox not appealing to you people!?

This is a perfect example on the failure of downvotes, people misusunderstand posts, I assume Aamir just tried to make a joke about the discussion and try to ease up the mood in the discussion. And he gets punished for doing so because people lack humor and misunderstood he's post. Did he really deserve those downvotes? If it was the old system he probably wouldn't have gotten too many likes either but he wouldn't get punished for something that was clearly just some attempt to make a joke.

Did people really think he was serious about all those wishes/requests? Get a grip folks

Just gave you 2 upvotes Amir to balance the  unfairness :P

I assume that you mean a clean install of P3d and not also a clean install of Windows. I agree with your suggestion to start off with "middle of the road" visual settings, no add-ons and no tweaks at all for P3d 2.0.

I did a clean install of P3d 1.4 and then followed the instructions in NickN's "bible" (only a very small number of changes to the CFG file combined with an iterative approach for cranking up the in-app settings) for matching visual settings to my hardware's capabilities. Anything more than that added instability (just like with FSX).

Is it really going to happen today????

I thought they were going to announce it THIS WEEK.   Who said anything about today?

^_^
