Cockpit flood light not visible in external view

Featured Replies

Hi, today I found out that, if at night I turn the cockpit flood light on, either dim or bright, in the external view the cockpit is completely dark, as if I kept the flood light off. Is that normal?

Anyone noticed this? Is it an FSX limitation?

Thanks.

Haven't bothered to look, and even if I noticed, I probably wouldn't care too much, honestly.  That's just me, though.  It's probably related to some kind of FSX limitation, yes.

It's a pity, because from outside you can see every sort of light of the airplane, including the pax cabin, but the cockpit is always dark, even with the flood light in bright position.

Still, it's not that often that you see the lights on up front apart from perhaps emplaning/deplaning (more the latter, since emplaning should be as dark as possible for your eyes to acclimate).

I write this off as another partial simism.  I caught a lot of flak on my first sim video for having the lights so "dim," when in reality, they'd be around that level.  A lot of simmers like to turn the lights on bright for some reason.

In my years of working the ramps of IAD, BCB, DVT, PHX and flying out of JYO, I've only seen a handful of cockpits with the domes on.

What I would like to understand is just if it is a problem in my settings or it works like that, because if it is only my problem I should try and fix it...
