FSX Black Screen in the middle of a VA flight! Help needed!

Recommended Posts

Hey,

My FSX will not open back up after i Alt+Tabbed out of fsx to check something, and i am in the middle of my longest VA flight to date.

I really need some help with getting it back up and running normally.

Any tips?

It's going to take a lot of persistence but eventually you might get FSX back.  I have a couple of times.  Try going into the Task Manager (ctrl-alt-del) and end some processes or applications you might not need.  I have been successful by shutting down my weather program.  Even so, you're going to have to continue to hit alt-tab until fsx pops up again.  Next time, don't you alt-tab and use alt-enter to go to Windowed Mode, do your thing, then go back to FSX.  (NOTE:  I had this happen on my old i7 2600K system and not my current system.  So far this has not happened on my current system).

Best regards,

Jim

Hey Jim i always thought blackscreen only happen when your system is overheating or some overclock gone wrong . But as i see many simmer reporting the blackscreen issue it might be trigger by something else also . I always thought it might be ENB or overheating system. Soon i said to myself i might need something like this for my rig because of the high temperature in the US Virgin island

Getting back to the OP CTD by any chance he might be running ENB ? Or in this case i think it might be overheating since clearly he was on the longest flight ever that might be a reason for an overheating system huh Jim ?
