HiFlyer

If you had to pick one scenery package............

To be fair there aren't many companies on the FSX side which are as good as Orbx, they are more the exception than the rule. There is FlyTampa but I don't think that they have made anything new in the last few years. It seems like most of the enhancements I read about are for improving the mesh, weather, and the default textures. I think it is these enhancements that make a more global impact on the sim are more important than focusing on a handful of airports.

(this is probably why I don't buy orbx airport scenery because it is usually located in some remote part of Australia... Waste of money to me)

But of course, most people fly in areas they have a direct interest in, so global is very nice of course but a beautiful world that looks pretty much the same everywhere you go begs for scenery to differentiate areas into something recognizably unique.

And it doesn't really require all that much. I used Teds freeware on New York for instance, and it was surprising how just a very few recognizable landmarks helped increase the sense of really "being there"

Unfortunately, the bridges and things did not successfully exclude the default structures, and they were also slightly misplaced, spoiling the affect a bit. Still, its an awesome effort I could never match and went far in showing me how a little can mean a lot.

It would be this one, and so well done....  KFNT Bishop International

The first thing one needs to do, is merely taxi around the entire airport property and appreciate the scope of this version!!!  Night time looks great as well. HDR really shines with thiw gem....

... maybe? Though, not released and only screenshots but at least it proves, that the engine itself is capable of a lot (and t its content that is needed).

I might end up getting this despite the remote area just because it has something I am beginning to miss very badly in XPX...... Color!

Endless muted grey and beige (mostly gray) and tan houses and airports and roads and buildings stretching to eternity is getting to me.
