Sorry if it doesn't work:

Please see the orbx forum (General Discussion/"Orbx products and P3D 2.0 compatibility" and see the second sentence under the heading "Our 66+ airports").

Thanks! That was very helpful, as I was wondering about my own timeline in purchasing Orbx products for my P3D install.

Comes up just fine for me? Are you a member of the forum, Gerry?

No. that's why I asked the question.

Not so sure about the impact on fps: JV from Orbx stated: "... P3D2 with its vastly improved shadow system that has little to no FPS impact..." (http://www.orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/68089-orbx-products-and-p3d-20-compatibility/page-1).

This doesn't surprise me. With modern GPUs, generating lightsources and shadows are such a basic function that it shouldn't cost much of anything.

Those who have been stuck in FSX (myself included) forget exactly how powerful a modern engine combined with modern hardware. Something like DCS A-10 runs like a dream even with all of the bells and whistles turned up.

Was wondering, not to get off topic but will P3D Have Dynamic lighting? Such as when you pull up to a gate at a lit terminal the light will shine on the plane? I'm sick of not having that and X-Plane takes a real chunk out of FPS with the HDR.

Incredible how shadows add to the realism.

Indeed! I also like how the P3D shadows are (or can be, depending on the weather, I presume) very clear and obvious. In FSX with the DX10 fixer the shadows often are very subtle and can hardly be seen. I really don't mind a little exaggeration in this regard!

I will adapt a custom monitor profile for P3D2, like I have for P3D, FSX, FS2004 now. That way I have the black level, contrast and gamma perfectly adjusted for each platform.

It finally looks like the sun is shining! Reminds me of another certain sim, where the shadows helped so much with the immersion.
