FSX Questions

Recommended Posts

Hi, Campo here.

Right now, I'm downloading the latest version of ADE, but here are a few questions (which I'm new to this kind of designing)

Is it possible to put (example: 3ds max or Gmax) buildings in the editor?

And I'm using google maps (for photo realism) and I was wondering how to rotate the camera? (because I'm trying to take a shot of Unalakeet's Long Runway as well as the town)

Kind Regards,

Ranwer

EDIT: Ok, I've adjusted the size of a stock airport of Unalakeet with the background image I pasted in.

But, how do I finish the project off and make it work in FSX?

Max or GMax objects must be compiled to a scenery model (.mdl) at least before they can be added to ADE.

If the model will only be used a few times, then leave it as a .mdl file. ADE will then include it in your airport .bgl file.

If the model will be used many, many times, then consider compiling the .mdl into a .bgl file.

Look for some tutorials on SBX - you can do most of the stuff there - manipulate the photoreal, do excludes, flattens etc. ADE is primarily to do AFCAD and other airport stuff. Make the mdls of the buldings or whatever, compile into a library file; buy Instant Scenery and place the objects with it. That's the most common approach.
