PFPX v Simbrief

My question is simple. I have been looking into PFPX and also Simbrief but cannot see how PFPX is better then Simbrief. Both incorporate weather, both have ETOPS planning, both have fuel calculations and on Simbrief they seem to be correct. Both will give me a full flight plan and can save these flight plans, so the question is what make PFPX worth paying £50 for a years subscription and then having to pay more every month after that?

PFPX is expensive at $54.95.  Simbrief is just as good (seriously) and cost $54.95 shy of $54.95.  How can anyone justify $54.95 for PFPX when you can get the same thing for free.  The guys at Simbrief have done incredible work and have taken my flightsim to the next level.

I think PFPX might be able to do some extra stuff like cost index based planning, and for a little more money (lol) you can get takeoff landing and performance data from Topcat. Maybe some other stuff too, but I don't really care for any of that. Simbrief is very nice!

It is like comparing captain Sim 777 to the PMDG 777 - They both have LNAV/VNAV and are both shaped like a 777

 

simbrief is a great tool that I have used in the past but It doesn't compare to PFPX.  

 

Like most things in life, you get what you pay for.  As Adam mentioned above, if you don't care for a product that replicates the real thing then PFPX is probably not for you.

 

It's great that we have choices in this hobby

Is there any flight planning software like these 2 but for the iPad? I would love to be able to have an app on my iPad for flight planning.

From the iPad, you may access the pdf file from simbrief or even fill the entire flight plan from there.

I think Simbrief is a good starter, but if you want/need more, then PFPX is the better choice.
